No real point to this post, other than touting the benefits of fishing yet again.
Background - I have three level 70s, all Alliance on the same server. Along with a level 36 DE alt, they are highly co-dependent. I have a Herb/Alch, Miner/JC, Herb/LW, and the Enchanter. All three 70s have their epic flyers.
Well, for a change of pace, I decided to start a Horde druid on my wife's server. But, I am not using my wife's toons for anything. I'm guildless and I'm trying to basically start from scratch. The one exception is the level 27 mage I have on the same server that I started a while ago and left idle. The mage is an echanter/miner, but really I'm only utilizing it to DE stuff. It's a real change of pace to not have the option of mailing myself money or buying gear off the AH.
Anyway, I get the druid to the Barrens and while questing there, I see a few pools of Deviate Fish in one of the oases. I figure I might as well get a few points on fishing (I'm a profession guy, I can't help myself, I always level primary and secondary professions [even fishing] on my alts). I pull in 8 fish and then continue on questing.
I wasn't really figuring on them being worth much, but thought it couldn't hurt to look. So the next time I'm in Thunder Bluff, I check the AH and to my surprise the Deviate Fish are listed for nearly 1 gold apiece. This was just a total shock. On my Alliance server, Deviates are usually 1-2 gold per stack. Needless to say, I listed several. Overnight, I went from less than 1 g to over 8g. Woot! Chump change I know, but when you don't have a sugar daddy and you can't do IQD dailies, that's significant money. I don't know if the market will be sustained or not, but I'll definitely keep trying to sell the Deviates. The deposit is so low that it doesn't hurt much if they don't sell.
Moral of the story: Fishing FTW!
Mainly just posting to provide some fodder on a slow day, post your fishing tales if you want.
