I'm at 320 right now. Worked hard to get here and quite proud of myself.

Really, is the ONLY thing I can make the Fel Iron Musket? I've looked through quite a few leveling guides, and can't find anything to help.

15 Fel iron bars each??? That's 30 ores per level for what looks like 10 levels!

WTF!

If this item is in fact the only one you can use to skill up, I guaranty a couple hours flying around HFP will net you all the Fel Iron you need, not to mention all the Primal Fires you'll have.

-On a (sort of) unrelated side note... when I was leveling up Blacksmithng from 360-375 the only recipes I had that would give me skill ups were the Enchanted Adamantite pieces, requiring 3-5 Hardened Adamantite Bars, 10-24 Arcane Dusts, and 2-6 Large Prismatic Shards...EACH... keep that in mind as you farm those Fel Irons...

Best of Luck, it won't take nearly as long as you think it will.

I would expect that come 350, but didn't think it would be so hard so early.

Ah well. Back to farming.

Sure there are other things to make. Make some adamantite frames, you'll need them later for other items.

Its been a while, but I could have sworn I made elemental blasting powder up to 225, then tool boxes and then white smoke from 335 to 350 (although smoke greys out at 355 actually but I ran out of mats).

Elemental Blasting Powder is grey at 320 for me. Lockboxes start at 325, as do the frames. I guess I only need to make the guns for 5 levels?

Not so bad then. Only other option are bombs for 5 levels which are yellow to me right now. Guess I'll make those since I do have some powder left over.

Thanks all!

Peh - just discovered that admantite rifles green out at 370 and I've got no other cost-realistic options to keep skilling short of earning a few levels and pharming some recipes. >_<

Khorium Scope or Field Repair Bots?

Only two I could find...

You can still make the gun to 374 if you want, but apparently it'll suck. At 374, make yourself a flying machine for that last skillup.

My last 3-5 points of engineering I used the repair bot plans. Easy to get and relatively inexpensive. Also, the end product is very useful and seems to sell well on my server's AH.

One thing I did do before I hit 375 was craft all the mats for the basic flyer and the epic flyer. That saved me a few skill up points.

I wish I had done that earlier in my race to 375 but it does get spendy to do so.

I'm at 361 engineering and never made a single rifle.

I only made explosives, smoke flares, a box, a trinket, a headpiece, a mote extractor. The explosives are fun to use anyway, nothing lost.

LOL, well, this toon is only 57 (its big brothers and sisters have been buying fel iron bolts, casings and adamantite frames in Netherstorm for it) so it needs a few levels before it can farm those recipes. ;-)

I just leveled up to 350 on my shammy last night. I made the gun until 335 and then picked up the schematic for the White Smoke Flare...which turned green close to 350, but was still giving me skillups every other time or so. I had a ton of the elemental blasting powder from fishing up the boxes in Zangermarsh.

You may or may not might find this guide helpful:

I farmed the field repair bot plans from the Gan'arg Analyzers in Blade's Edge Mtns. That took a bit less than an hour. It boosted my engineering from 360 to 375. I still have some in the bank. You'll be very welcome on raids if you bring these along.

Toon dinged 58 last night despite my trying my darndest to take my time with it and glom some rested XP while not in the BGs (someone wanted to do Scholo with a level appropriate group, then they said "Hey, lets do Strath now!" - how could I resist?) but that still means at least 7 more levels till it can farm that recipe.

No rush I guess though as there's nothing that it needs from the 375 skill level.

Try this. I got it from Ten Ton Hammer's Power levelling guide for BS.

320-325 Fel Iron Chain Tunic

9x Fel Iron Bar
The few Fel Iron items that you actually need to make on this speed trip to 375.

That was pretty dumb. You should have just picked up a Felsteel recipe. I made felsteel helms from 360-375, and I farmed all of what I needed flying around Hellfire.

To OP: Field repair bots. Efficient for leveling, simple to farm, and practically mandatory for raids. If you're eng and don't have it your raid members will burn you alive.

Sorry for necro posting, but I had to.

Why in the hell didn't anybody tell me you can wear the epic helm at lvl 62? I'm in the process of picking up mats right now.

I am very disappointed in you all. : )
