Where to buy vanity pets?Follow

I know of the cockroaches in UC and the birds in Booty Bay, but that's about it....

Looking to buy some of these(especially if there are any less known about) and AH them for a small profit.

Anyone know where to find them?

But, I'll point out another easy one I know of: Dealer Rashaad at Stormspire in Netherstorm sells eight different pets. These range from 40s parrot (duplicate of Booty Bay pet) to 40g mana wyrmling.

I hope they fix it soon, as cross faction pets are needed for getting 50 pets. I took a look at that list and 50 pets for a human are possible with all vendor pets (including Darkmoon Fair), quest pets, and rare drops such as all whelps bought from the Ah, plus festival pets such as Wolpertinger and Wiggles&Co.

I sent some pets to my bank toon hoping that was the case but its not - only other possibility might be that if you've never learned/used a pet on your account then you might be able to put it up.

I did send a trouble ticket and the email response was that they were aware of the bug and working on it - apparently you can't put darkmoon cards and some other expendable items up.

I got really lucky myself - I'd scored some cross faction pets from the AH before the patch so after I'd bought all of the horde vendor pets I was up to 48 (had every Christmas pet and 2 years worth of children's week pets).

Managed to get a guild mate to build me a mechanical toad (the squirrel, toad and yeti can all be used by non-engineers) and then was lucky enough to farm the black cat.

You can also get the alliance chicken in one of two ways -

1) Buy the chicken feed from the AH and do the quest

2) Have a friend (or yourself) roll and Ally toon and then have that toon do it - if you're doing it yourself then park your horde toon in front of the farm and then have your ally toon do the quest - when the chicken lays the egg log in and out and if you're lucky, no one will ninja it while you're logging (thus why it's easier to have a friend help)

Check out the non-Ally and non-seasonal pets though - I'm not someone to sit around farming for a pet drop forever so these are all easy to get pets - for the black tabby, don't do the spellscribe - he's on a several hour spawn table - just slaughter the guys in Alteric Mountains.

The pets that are broken are the ones that were purchased before the 3.0.2 patch. What appears to have happened is the 3.0.2 patch added a charge=1 property to the pet container items. The older pet container items lack the property entirely, thus 'have no charge'.

It was being worked on as well, which is part of why it wasn't showing up. It's complete now except for a few red links that we apparently don't have data for...
