What will happen to my Roflcopter? (Dropping Engi Question)Follow

I've decided to drop engineering *sniff* in favour of Inscription for WOTLK. I've looked at the new recipes and quite frankly the only thing that tempts me is the haste enchant for gloves, whereas having an extra glyph slot will come in very handy I am sure. I'm intending to train engi up on my primary alt, so i won't miss out on the hog and the potion injectors ;)

I finally replaced my goggles last night (with T6 =P ), I have all my herbs ready to go, there's only one thing that makes me hesitate..

What will happen to my roflcopter, and therefore my Albino Proto drake when i drop engineering? I accept I won't be able to fly it, but the 2 flyers were part of my 50 mounts acheivment. Will the flyer stay on my "mounts list" but i just won't be able to fly it?

I believe the number still counts.

Although, fyi, you have an albino drake, not a proto one.

Funny how I'm thinking of dropping inscription in favor of engineering. May I ask what attracts you to inscription, it might save me from dropping a valuable profession. So far, the fact that the most useful recipes require any random herbs from any level is really bugging me. I don't like the idea of having to go back to Teldrassil to make something I use at lv 70.

Also, did they cancel that extra glyph slot? I sure don't have it :(

Yeah the extra glyph slot has been gone for a while, instead you get buffed shoulder enchants!!!!!!111

(I was considering dropping for an extra glyph slot, but it really isn't worth it, imo in its current incarnation).

From what I understand, you should still be able to have the copter and still have it count. The only thing is that you're not going to be able to fly it, that's all. So no worries... it's not going to be taken away. It'll just be a little souvenier

You have the item, you crafted it and became soulbound.
While you are an engineer you can fly it. if you are not an engenieer, its still a soulbound item in your inventory (mount tab), you just no longer have the skill to use it.

Ok cheers guys, at least i know i won't lose my drake (proto or not :P I blame early morning lack of coffee there)

But erm no extra Inscription slot? Hmm I don't know now. Are the Inscription shoulder enchants worth it on their own? Are they better than Faction/rep enchants (if there are any to be added in wotlk)?

I originally leveled engi because I didn't think I would get to see much past Kara, and was aiming towards PVP. As it happens i've landed with a good guild and got to see a lot more than that, and will be doing 25 mans again in WOTLK. My other profession is alchemy, and i'm happy with that because of the mixology buff. I'm interested in a profession that will aid my PvE raiding in the long term, not just for a single set of crafted gear like Tailoring.
