Jewelcrafting changes

I was looking at some of the new gems coming out and a lot of them are BOP. Are they for JCs only or is it going to be like enchanting was where the JC has to install the gem in the will not trade window? BOP gems does not sound like a good idea. Sorry if you guys have discussed this many times, I been busy playing WoW, not reading the Forums at work (strike)

Not really sure what gems you're looking at but yes anything that is BOP will be for a JC only; there have been a lot of JC only items usually trinkets from BC, but yea I've heard that with LK there are a few more nice JC only gems, but in the end you can usually find comparable gems from badge rewards

The only name I remember is Fire Opal. The list here has many Self only gems, so every one will have to be a JC to get those gems.

There are already some BOP, JC only gems in the game. It's nothing new.

You're probably looking at the final cut gems - they have gems like that already in the game that only the jeweler can benefit from after he cuts them.

Thanks for the input. It turned out to all be "My Bad" as the new gems are the same as the old non-epics. Prospected from Cobalt and most of the cuts are learned at 375. Need 1 more to finish the Quest; Gem Perfection. Hope the market supports the new gems, as the JC's are in fat city.
