Cooking s...l...o...w...Follow

Cooking is going along at a snail's pace for me - only recipes I've got are green and it looks like I can't get any more till I hit Dalaran (spell?).

Question is are there any other recipe vendors other then that place and the four random drop emote foods?

I've been through about half the zones so far and haven't found a single new cooking recipe so far.

The cooking/fishing guide over on El's says you can't really lvl past 415 w/o recipes from Dalaran...

Bummer, but good to know.

I'm at around 403 or so; I'm still getting rare skill-ups from the green recipes I still have. I keep hoping to find new ones. I've been looking at every single vendor I come across to see if there are new cooking recipes. I guess I'll just hold on until I can hit Dalaran.

Finally got myself up there and have knocked out two cooking dailies, so one more daily and I get a new recipe!

You also get the awards in the spice bags sometimes. :)

Old spice and Northern Spices is what I've gotten. The Northerns are the true prize since they're the ingredient in most (all?) higher recipes and the only way to get them is through the cooking dailies (buying 10 with a cooking badge, or through the bag of spices).

But getting one recipe every 3 days kinda sucks. Just make sure you coordinate with your guildies to avoid overlap.

Finally dinged 450 cooking and dear god, those last few points were PAINFUL...

Decided to go with the Large Feast as it seemed like the better idea at the time - others who come after me can confirm or deny this. Not sure how many hours I spent slaughtering mammoths, but to put it in perspective, taking cooking from 427 to 450 earned me just over 300k in unrested XP and enough leather products to skill LW from 405 to 431. I also pulled in well over a dozen greens (four of which alts wanted and the rest went to my chanter) and about 300g from trash.

Critter Bites stays yellow longer than the other recipes you can get in Dalaran, so that's the stepping stone to 425. When you reach those dizzy heights, there are two more recipes available to get you over the final hurdle, to 450.

Exactly. And who doesn't have a boatload of shoveltusk flank? Use those to get to 400.

By the way, shoveltusk flank is great on the grill. Just rub it with salt, pepper, garlic and a little ginger and make sure you slice it thin and on the bias. Hot off the grill with a cold beer and you're all set. And it makes for great sandwiches the next day if there's any left over.

EDIT: to correct the result of my transient stupidity
