Professions for newborn charactersFollow

I just want to share my opinion on the subject, regardless of the already existing topics.

After almost 3 years experience in the World of Warcraft, creating whatever characters and picking all the professions, I've recently started new Ally Paladin on new server. It was just after the Echoes of Doom patch.

I was wondering how to get the money and I found the Inscription and Herbalism the professions that worth the most.

First I wanted to know more about the Scribers so I got the Herb. as gathering skill.

Inscription is the profession that you can level up without the exhausting hours of grinding. The Pigments required to craft ink can be found from at least 3 different herbs. That will skip the circles in a specific territory in search of a specific herb( all Alchemist have to agree).

Second of all everybody needs glyphs. The Glyphs from 1 to 300 ( I'm only 60sh at the moment and I can't lvl up the Inscription for now) are selling pretty well on the AH. For example glyph of Sinister Strike or Consecration are going for about 20g and I'm sure they can be sold for even more.

Finally don't forget about the herbs. All herb. stacks are selling in the interval between 10-30g. This gives you huge part of the total income. The first herbs Silverleafs and etc. can be gathered from the Start zones and you can put 5 stacks on the AH from a quick walk in Elvyn Forest ;).

At the moment I have plenty of gold. Yesterday I purchased the Jorneyman ridding skill, lend 450g to one of my friends who needed the money for a flying mount and I still own about 500g. That makes a total income of about 1500g without grinding, just picking up every herb I found while questing arround.

If you have a newborn toon, or if you are a noob, taking herbalism right now is a great short to mid-term income stream. I can't be 100% sure that the prices will stay inflated, but selling stacks of herb for 10 - 90 G at this point is really increasing my income.

Don't know about the Inscription thing - I'm Herb/BS and Miner/Tailor, but you are correct on the Herbs = $$$

My only concern is sustainability. With enchanting, every time a raider gets a new piece of gear it needs to be enchanted. With Inscription I'm not sure how often people will be changing out glyphs once they get them. I heard Blizz was even considering including glyphs in their plans for the two spec option, allowing you to associate different glyphs with each of the two specs.
