If we could...Follow

Maybe that's a silly post, no real use, just for fun =)
If there was an opportunity to take 3rd primiry tradeskill, which would you choose?
My choice would be mining + blacksmithing + ingeneering (as I usually use plate armor). Need lots of ores, though...

My mage is an herbalist/tailor. If I could take a third skill I'd pick enchanting so I wouldn't have to mail all my greens to my druid and have DE them and then mail them back.

As my main is a LW/BS I think I'd go JC next. That would offer excellent gear enhancements via embossing, extra sockets and bigger + gems. Enchanting would be my other thought.

I'd have enchanting, JC, and BS.

My main has scribe and JC, and I always wish I could transmute Gems so I would take alchemy.

Where to get the ores then? Secondary characters? Or auction? Isn't it... expensive? =)

I get my materials via alts - all of whom are gatherers. My main was a skinner and then a miner in the past, but I found that I rarely used those skills except to make money. Once I hit 80 I decided to stick with crafting professions to take advantage of the bonuses/extras available. All of my alts can easily gather mats, for my main's crafting needs or to make money, while leveling and my main can make lots of coin doing dailies and dungeon runs as well. And since the alts are gatherers, they can take advantage of the bonus for those professions, not to mention that they have a crafter to outfit them with the materials they gathered. Kind of like an internal self-sufficient heirloom system, but the lower level toons don't totally skate as they contribute also.

JC daily, disenchanting, and a few BS recipes would make me enough golds per day to get away with it. Gold would be a non-issue.

Although my alt would be mining/herb/skinning. :P

My main 80 has been LW/skinner then miner which is where my ores came from for JC. Alt gathered and bought a lot of cheap herbs prior to inscription rollout, also I did the PTR to learn how to leverage leveling the skill. So now, prospecting gets me a lot of cheap gems which I roll into better gems, but why would an alchemist sell me their cooldown for 50 gold when they can make 100g.

Being a DK I'd rock BS/JC/Mining.

But because I'm always poor, I'd probably really go Mining/Herb/Skinning.
my DK is a mining/herb DK... lulz.

My Hunter. . . I dunno. Drop Enchanting, pick up LW and Engine. Skinning/LW/Eng would be a good combo.

I do try to pick job + professions that "go" together.

I wish we could add a third profession at level 80. They could limit it to 2 gathering and one crafting or 2 crafting & 1 gathering - not 3 of one type.

My ret pally (lvl 71) is miner/enchant & I really hate not being able to skin the higher lvl beasts she kills.

Good Idea maybe we could put it in 4.0. like adding a glyph at certain level. Limits would be ok, and spending money on skills that doesn't make money (read BOP epics) keeps money instead on paying the AH. Maybe only the maker could sell items, once given to others they are BOP.

My main is LW/skin so I guess either chanting or, more likely, a gathering profession for easy cash.

This is actually a pretty interesting topic. I was just moaning in guild chat about how I'd really like a third profession (and quad-spec, but hey).

I really love Alchemy and Herbalism, but I don't find that I make a lot of money off of it. I'm considering switching Alchemy to Skinning. I'll lose out on so much, like gem transmutes, endless potions and cheap brews, but on the other hand I'll probably make a killing from selling leather and herbs instead of consuming them, heh.

I've also been wondering if I should pick up Enchanting, because I run a lot of instances solo and notice that the disenchant value on drops is about 10x the vendor price. With the new DE option in 3.3 or whenever, it might not be an issue, though.

God, I wish I could pick up every profession. I don't play my other characters so much and I can only really see my Druid as my gatherer thanks to Flight form and stuff.
Please "talk up" if your comprehension white-shifts. I will use simple-happy language-words to help you understand.
