Gallente Elections back on track?

More than a year and a half after the Elections were originally called, and many months since the last development, it seems that the Gallente Elections are picking up again according to a news post made by CCP yesterday.

As the Federation shifts into election gear, billions of voters across Gallente space prepare to cast their votes in what looks to become one of the most hotly contested elections in the nation's history.

According to the latest numbers from the Federation's polling bureaus, presidential candidate Senator Mentas Blaque is currently in the lead with a public support rating of 54% to incumbent President Souro Foiritan's 46%.

Reactions from long-suffering roleplayers, having all but abandoned hope for a resolution to this particular story arc (let alone other major arcs), have regardless been somewhat cautious about the eventual impact of the news, as it is not yet known if the format of the event will continue unchanged.

First titan a potentially shortlived venture?

Following the news of EVE's first built titan-class warship by Ascendant Frontier, SirMolle, leader of the Band of Brothers alliance (BoB), declared impromptou war. Whether this is simply in line with BoB's usual policy of attacking anyone on the top at any given time, or if there are other reasons behind this call to war remains to be seen.

Initial skirmishes have taken place as BoB prepares to lay siege on key ASCN strongholds, in what promises to be the largest war yet in terms of capital ships fielded on either side. While this shouldn't affect the average Empire-dwelling podpilot in any significant way, those residing in and near ASCN space may want to consider treading lightly over the next couple of weeks.

Tranquility Patched, plus two new Devblogs

Following recent server problems, CCP deployed an emergency patch on Tranquility to address the stability problems in an extended downtime between 0800 and 1500 GMT. The patch also included a handful of other bug fixes and changes, including a change that now bars capital ships from entering Deadspace.

Patch notes can be found here (an active account is required to read them).

CCP also published two new Devblogs yesterday, about Kali 1 & 2 and the new Seamless Map respectively.

A Titan on Tranquility?

Finally, after months of second-guesses and wild speculation, industrial superpower Ascendant Frontier (ASCN) announced yesterday that they have completed the production of their Avatar-class Titan, making it the first confirmed Titan to be built and deployed on Tranquility.

ASCN, also known for deploying the first outpost on Tranquility more than a year ago, then released several screenshots of the massive new Titan, giving a sense of scale to the behemoth.

New Agent Guide

We have a new Agent-centered guide up, covering such topics as your first agent in EVE, standing, important missions and many others. Excerpt:
Agent Levels in particular dictate the agent's overall quality, as well as the difficulty of the missions provided. A level 1 agent will give out missions suitable for new pilots in frigates, while level 4 missions are extremely difficult to do alone, with many requiring small groups of people to do. While it is possible to solo level 4 missions, it requires significant amounts of experience and expensive ships and modules.

You can find it along with all our other guides here.

Recent Server Troubles

Tranquility, the main EVE cluster, has been having some troubles as of late, prompting a news post by CCP.

There are three large issues the Dev Team are working on in regards to server stability and node deaths. These issues are classified as 'critical' and we are doing what we can to resolve the issues ASAP.

We have hotfixed the server during downtime over the past couple days in an effort to fix the server health issues. This is the reason for the last two unscheduled extended downtimes, as Oveur said in his latest news item.

More information is available in this Dev Blog.

Again we apologize for any inconvenience these issues are causing.

Also, according to CCP, their petition queues have grown enormously due to these server problems, to the point where their current staff cannot keep up. Try not to scream at them too much while they bring in more people.

New Guide: Attributes & Skills

We have a new guide written by Hardin and Tripoli, covering attributes, skills and implants.
You are not stuck with the attributes you get at character creation; however, they will forever determine which skills your character will potentially train the fastest. It is possible to improve your attributes by training the various “Learning” skills. There are eleven learning skills: Two for each attribute and a general learning skill that adds 2% to your attributes per level.
Check it out in our guide section.
