With the closing of their "Friends and Family"  beta test on the 28th of February, today Zenimax Online Studios has announced that invites for their first closed beta test will be sent out near the end of this month. That's right Elder Scrolls fans, your ascension to the throne draws near!

Elder Scrolls Online: Variety Pack 2

The Elder Scrolls Online has gotten its second helping of questionnares, dubbed the variety pack. This week's variety pack has some good questions ranging from inventory management, meaning behind faction symbols, and some tidbits on class-roles.

Some other questions covered some lore about the Falmer, eight divines, and the Akaviri Dragonguard (commonly known as the Blades).

Zenimax Gives Thanks to the Fans

Yesterday ESO received one million Facebook likes. In response to this milestone, Zenimax wanted to say thank you. The above image is the concept art, containing heavy armors for the High Elf, Nord, and Breton. I like how difference each armor looks. It makes me wonder if one armor on one race will look completely different on another, something which makes it much easier to stand out from the crowd.

Ask Zenimax Anything: Variety Pack

There was another biweekly Q&A yesterday regarding The Elder Scrolls Online. This time things took a new turn, the questions were no longer about a specific part of the game, you could literally ask anything.

It's our Most Anticipated Game of 2013 for good reason and fans of The Elder Scrolls Online have been clamoring for every snippet of information since the game's announcement before E3 2012.

Today, news lands with a dragon-sized footprint as Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Online announced that players can now sign up for the impending ESO beta.

TESO: Alliances At War

When you have the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact all tangling with Cyrodiil (as the prize) stuck in the middle, the conflict that breaks out can go a number of ways.

So, what happens?

Lawrence Schick, Lead Loremaster for Bethesdadescribes what's going on currently and what will happen in The Elder Scrolls Online. Elder Scrolls lore nerds, to your stations, this one is gonna be nice.

TESO Q+A - Daggerfall Covenant Part 1

Man it feels like a whole year since last time the TESO team answered questions. *offscreen booing, garbage thrown at stage*

Okay, sorry. New Q+A has hit the stage, and there's a lot of lore-specific ones pertaining to the races and the regions of Elder Scrolls Online, including why the Orcs have joined the Daggerfall Covenant, how the Orcs and Redguards are getting along now that they're teammates, and if the Covenant control Hammerfell.

The Elder Scrolls Online devs ask you!

 David Leeper

David Leeper, Lead Patcher Programmer on The Elder Scrolls Online, asked the community to argue their winner for the age old question: Who would win in a fight? Specifically, a bar brawl between a Nord, a Khajiit, and an Orc.

Zenimax Online is asking fans to record a video response on YouTube, then E-mail it to them. The ones they like the most will be shared on TESO's Facebook fan page.

Based on my characters in previous Elder Scrolls games the Nord would be too encumbered with looted weapons and armor to walk, let alone fight. The Khajiit will have vanished to the back to "Purr-loin" some free potions, and the Orc would be drunkenly swinging at shadows.

Make sure to check out TESO's Developer Question of the Week #5, where you can also find the previous four developer questions if you missed them.
