Living Legacy Live Events

The first Living Legacy raid event is now live and involves a giant experimental clockwork called the "Infinitely Regenerative Automaton". What's this about? Here is some information from EQLive:

Taking part in the Living Legacy Live Events? Want to see who's earning points for the events? Then you'll want to visit the Living Legacy Event Leaderboards! As the events open up, you can read all about them on the 'Events' tab of the EverQuest section of the Living Legacy website and track player and guild standings for each server for each event. The standings are updated once every 24 hours.

You can also check out a promo video for the event at EQLive.

Patch Notes for June 3, 2008

Here are some update notes from the patcher (today and yesterday):

Living Legacy EQ Hardcore Heritage Celebration

SOE has unveiled Living Legacy, something which should pique the interest of anyone with an inactive EverQuest account (and current players all the same). From EQLive:

Living Legacy is a celebration of the millions of players who have adventured in EverQuest in the last nine years. Whether you were one of the first players to call Norrath home or just dropped by for a day to explore, we're inviting you to come back and celebrate with us. Special events and unique reward opportunities are waiting. We're still in the fight. Is the fight still in you?

All inactive paying and trial EverQuest accounts in good standing have been reactivated and entitled for free play up until July 25, 2008.

And that is only the tip of the iceberg. For more information about the perks for returning players and details surrounding Living Legacy, check out the official website here - http://livinglegacy.station.sony.com/en/everquest.vm

EQ Producer Letter for January 2008 - 1/31/08

A new producer's letter was published on the Sony website:

EQ Producer Letter for January 2008

A Brief Recap of 2007 2007 was a great year for EverQuest. We launched an expansion, provided live events, and worked on building the community. It would be impossible for me to cover everything done for EQ throughout the year so here's brief recap of some of fun: For Secrets of Faydwer, we kicked off a 3-month Beta that allowed both the players (you) and the Developers (us) plenty of time to focus on quality and polish the content for the expansion. We were able to do multiple passes on the high-level content and our Quality Assurance department actually reached out to work with players to ensure that the content was "fun" to play. That is a new process that you will see rolling into all future expansions. Since the development team is generally focused on balance and functionality and what we think is fun, it is refreshing to have the QA team essentially be an unbiased check and balance for the content. The Live event that took place in the Steamfont Mountains was MAJOR! For those of you who were able to participate… I hope you had a great time with the event. We plan to do more events like it moving forward.
