How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

I cant wait to play as a Worgen they look amazing, I want to explore the new Azeroth that was changed from Vanilla. I wana to check out Holy Power on a paladin and see whether i want to stay paladin or reroll worgen.

I'm very much excited about the changes to threat, Bear/warrior rage mechanics.

I'm also kinda fed up with kalimdor / eastern so a revamp of that will be awesome is also something that i'm looking forward to.

And the face (from what i've read & from the current state in dungeons) CC will be back, Which I personally think is awesome, I can't really say that i've enjoyed the "facerollmode" that the current heroics are at, Seeing i'm a tank (Druid,Dk & warrior) I'd like to have some kind of challenge aswell :P.

Holy cow, UD hunter & troll druid will also be very sweet :)

Three most things im excited for cataclysm are:

playing a goblin and hiding in the bushes

killing deathwing and picking up his glorious chin

and all the new quest and how they all relate and send you to a new quest hub

going to be a lot of fun.

I'm quite honestly not really sure what I'm most excited about, so I think I'll have to say that I'm mostly looking forward to all that is Cataclysm. Everything about it seems pretty awesome, and I can't wait to try out the new Raids and Battlegrounds and even the Worgen and Goblin Start Zones. The mere thought of Azeroth evolving is really awesome, and I'm really looking forward to using flying mounts to explore every new aspect in Azeroth, not to mention the Deathwing Boss.
But if I'd had to pick the one thing I'm most excited about, I'd have to say the enviromental changes, and to see how areas envolve as I'm questing. It's going to be rad, I just know it!

Not really sure why I'm even putting this into the comment, but I do have a complaint about Cataclysm already, two words: Holy Cow. Tauren Paladin is effin' bulls#it, and everyone knows it.

The whole expansion looks to be good, but the one thing i am looking forward to the most: Heroic: Deadmines. I have always loved that instance.

Im exited about looking at all the new dungeons and raids. About rolling worgen, since I have been waiting for that race since beginning of TBC. I would really like to start gathering tacs info and questing info for my fellow guildmembers (I am moderating the cataclysm part of our forum).
Spend alot of time giving bliz feedback that doesnt contain words like "OMG NERF" or "OMFG BUFF"... Constructive stuff on what could be useful to change, and not whine posts. I have been playing since the vanilla beta and I must admit to be hooked. Every day I spend on watching videos and following forums about Cata. I love the fact that bliz are finally changing the basic mechanics of the game. Not just adding new stuff. But actually fixing stuff and improving on the good stuff. Loving the eclipse change, holy power for palas, hunters with focus, soul shard changes etc. And I would be very exited to receive a beta key so I could start testing it out instead of just hearing about it hehe.

Im really excited so see the new world what happen after the world is coming to end because of deathwing and his new dragonflight i want to see how Azeroth turns up to bed the new barrens darkshore and rest of the great zones i just wanna have fun playing new classes on different races or playing as a warrior as a blood elf or playing a hunter as a undead or human (great pvp class) well i dont know if i get a beta but its the thought that counts <3 for AZEROTH Glory to the HORDE & ALLIANCE!

For one thing, i cant w8 to see the changes they are gonna make to our old an beloved Azeroth...it will be the work of the Devil!

Also, the Lore and quests...as a Loremaster i cant w8 to get me hands on them quests.

Wonder how long it will take to adapt to the new stat system aswell.

I look forward to all the new cool mounts, i think they will be awsome as im a mount colector, and the new fly in azeroth will allso be cool.
And ofcourse the goblins rocket belt :)
Personly im going to make a druid worgen i think...
The new raids is the absolutly awsomest of all, and think of all new drops!

But there is one thing...
Every thing will have a new start, every one will have a chance to reach the top!
All icc gear will be worthless!
So i realy look forward to get a chanse to be EPIC!

I am most exited about the class changes and the new content and the fact that the old world will finaly be remodeled and will finaly be more enjoyable to play i am playing wow since patch 2.3 and i can i know all the class mechanics in both pvp/pve i will definetly level a goblin when il got the oportunity the racials are not just increase ur dmg or increse ur healing wich is booring....Thx for this oportunity :)

I am the raid leader of my guild and we are taking some vacancy for the summer era. Two members of the guild had the opportunity to play the beta. I want to go there to test the 5-mans and future raids as soon as they unlock and are ready to test.

Im definately looking to the new expansion.

I cant wait to see the new battleground and to see the new troll druid forms without having to google them. Last but not least i cant wait to explore all of Azeroth again on my new goblin and kick some furry butt!

Iv been playing wow since beta in the original version. Even when taurens had plainstriding instead of mounts lol. Iv been waiting till the old world was remade and some of the old dungeons revamped. Especially the hyjal zone that we have seen but never crossed into :)

Iv never gotten over how amazing and how much fun vanilla wow was and im so excited for the chance to go back and revisit old and new content in azeroth

The most excited to...well,since essays are not allowed I'll cut things down.Basicly I want to experiment and experience the lore added up to the content past WotLK.And as every Loremaster,once level capped,I'll go back and pick all the quests in all the possible zones,just so the immage and the storyline I want to unwrap to be whole again.

I am most looking forward to the worgen, its about time that the alliance actually got a savage race, also come on posh regal gentlemen/women, that turn into bloodthirsty beasts, thats enough to make anyone want to play. The re-done dungeons are going to be excellent aswell going back to the deadmines basically babies first dungeon will bring back so many memories most of which Sneed's whiney horrible voice that makes you want to rip your ears of, plus Silverpine Forest is my favourite zone in the entire game so to see the worgen running around, gaining entry to Gilneas, Shadowfang Keep remastered will make me a very happy dwarf! COME ON CATA!

I'm most looking forward to testing the goblin race by leveling a goblin warrior to 85 and reporting any bug in any of the new laid out zones and to see what the new leveling curve is like, as with release im turning my orc warrior to a goblin as soon as you can!

and if there is a cap for increasing cast speed by the gold for goblins ?

I am really excited about how fun it will be to fly above kalimdor and eastern kingdoms skies ,with all reformed and flooded areas ,all new lore connected quests.I am also really excited about changes we(warlocks) have gotten ,because from what i saw from it it is going to be really exciting to play a warlock.
What I am most excited about it definitely goblin starting areas,goblin starting quests similiar to DK in wotlk,mostly everything related to goblins,and ...well...no more soul shard bags for my warlock! finally! :)

I think, out of all the thrilling content upcoming, the thing I'm looking forward to most is the ability to soar over my favourite zones in Azeroth. To explore previously unreachable areas and to boldly go where no Tauren has gone before!

I'm looking forward to seeing new endgame content and how having 10 man raids drop the same loot as 25 man raids is going to work out. I am also looking forward to see two new races around. Also the new zones and music.
