I have yet to get DC, (road runner with wireless links router for PS2, one computer, and another computer hardwire) but did get some lag at first, had to set my bandwidth priorities on my router. it more or less saying that my PS2 Wile running will receive priority over bandwidth from the two other systems. but did find it strange that I got a better connection from the wireless than I did from hardwire. Also I tried a hardwire strait connection to the cable modem and found that connect made it weaker with out my computer and router managing the bandwidth. but the last 2weeks have notice way too many ppl DCing, and there is nothing worse than your WHM DCing halfway through a fight ahhh, lol good luck with yall connections.
Rar.

I'm on dsl... no router or anything. I get disconnected atleast once every 2 hours. Perhaps SE should point the finger at something else. *CoughLikethemselvescough*

Sorry...no router here. Straight cable modem to computer setup. And I get disconnected 2-3 times a day. Just standing there and S/R goes to 0 and my arrows turn yellow then red...Sorry SE, this is something you did, not I. Great game though ;)

I have always been disconected constantly, what are you talkin about? ALthough, then again, I am on a router, but I am DSL, so. . .

The thing is, nobody should disconected much at all. It is getting to the point of ridiculous. SE should fix this problem by not allowing too much information or something so people shouldn't get disconnected.

That sucks that you los tthe 3000 exp and were back at 28. I've NEVER had that happen.
In agreement with server issues

I too have never been disconnected prior to this update. Every one of my Characters on all of the servers I am on, get disconnected all the time. I experience these as frequently as 2-3 times a day. This is not the most convenient thing in the world as we all know, and I dearly hope that Square will remedy this issue.
Disconnections

I am having the same problem I see many others are, prior to the last patch I had no connection issues, now I am disconnected every hour almost on the hour usually 45 to 60 minutes between disconnects. It is VERY annoying...
I use cable and a router, but NEVER have I had this problem before. I have also never had the S go to zero, I have had the R go to zero and lose connection before, but now it is instantaneous, both S and R got straight to 0 and unless I am watching it, I won't even notice because I can still play...nothing I try to do goes through of course, but it's always fun to run through Lathein and realize you disconnected halfway through so you can run it again...
I hope they fix this soon.

I had probably a worse experience than you.

I got into a really sweet party, and gained like 3000 xp in about an hour, got level 29, etc.

Then I suddenly disconnected, with an error message instead of being dumped to the opening screen. When I relogged, I had lost those 3000 xps and had to get lvl 29 back.

I hadn't died, so it seems that character data isn't saved all that often...

Prior to the last update, I had never disconnected. Afterwards, I've had 5 so far.

wow, i use 56k, and only time i ever get booted off is when my horrible ISP does it,(it has a 7 hour auto-reconnect tingy), my S has never gone to 0, and my R does maybe once or twice a day, i have never been kicked off unless it was because of my stuipid ISP, so it might or might not be a client side error
what about the Server Disconnect problem...
# Jul 05 2004 at 5:25 PM Rating: Decent
WTF... I hope they secretly fix whatever they did to the server on the last patch.

A lot of people have been getting a TON of disconnects and TON of times when the Send/Receive goes to 0/0 since the last update.
SE blames it on people's routers, so I am guessing everyone that is complaining about it just up and got new routers the day of the update...
Or... Dial-up users (me) has some form of invisible router now since the update, and that is causing it too....

I have maybe been disconnected from the server maybe 1-3 times since January by a "server disconnect" but in the last week since the update I get about 2-3 of the 0-send/0-receive disconnects a day...

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?!

You should feel lucky, my R and S don't even go to zero and my connection goes to 88% and I disconnect. I am a dial up user btw.
