Stay up late the night before, like all night or something, then sleep in. By the time you wake and have breakfast... errr.... I mean lunch (or dinner), you should be good to go. No worries, friend.

Catch a clue. This affects everyone, don't take it so personal. I bet you are one of the first to complain when you get kicked off because they don't keep things running smoothly.
Relax. And when the game is back up, take out your frustration on a couple of Crawlers. You'll feel much better!

Cause it's Thursday in Japan......which I think makes sense since majority of their players play during the weekend. At least this doesn't happen on Fridays/Saturdays.

I realise this might shock you, but some people want DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I know it sounds weird, but trust me on this, they do.

And with the amount of money SE are getting, they can provide it. This means 24/7 uptime - there are ways of doing it (server mirroring etc.) but the fact it isn't being done shows SE doesn't want to spend some of those profits its been getting from us.

So people want customer service, and good on them for it - and if 'stop playing then' is all you got to say, Corm, then **** off.

decent service? SE has announced the maintenance well on time. Not SE's fault that players still plan stuff during maintenance..

Why is it that every time SE decides to update (to fix certain errors mind you) people get all *******
The Updates only take a few hours, its not the end of the world.

If SE were to not update FFXI, you'd be ******** even more. The game would glitch and you'd be more pissed off.

SE updates to remove certain glitches and errors, to make an overall BETTER gaming experiance for us.

Take your head out of your *** and stop thinking SE is some evil empire trying to ruin your life and steal your money.

If you don't like it then Leave.

OH NOEZ! SE IZ TRYIN TO STEAL MY .05 CENTS FOR "MAINTENANCE"! HOW DARE THOSE ASSHATS!

'cause that's really what the maintenance comes down to, a nickel. Do the math if you'd like, 12.95 / 30(days) / 24(hours) * 3(hours of maintenance) = amount lost play time was worth.

And it's not like they're magically pulling the money outta air, they get that money regardless of if servers are up or not, and since they want customers, don't ya think they'd leave 'em up as long as possible?

Oh wait, I know! They're trying to make money by lowering their electricity bill! Those bastards!

I think if you go read your TOS (did you read them the first time?) you'll find that they suggest that downtimes may occur from time to time. Once you learn to read, maybe then you can make a well-founded comment. Scheduled maintenance and even occasional emergency crashes/downtime ARE SE treating you as a proper customer, dingbat. Or would you prefer a nice stagnant game with errors that never get addressed, content that never gets updated, and so on?

This isn't a damn console game that lives in a cartridge or disc that remains thesame from day one. The people telling you to shut up don't dislike the game, they dislike you. GROW UP ALREADY!

heh. If they were providing true sh***y support, they wouldnt be updating or fixing bugs (see updates). at least they're doing SOMETHING, you know? so everyone should mellow out and take a nap or something :P

Yes your right, in fact, i only sleep during downtime like this lol. This is a prime example of people taking things for granted when they have them and flipping out when they dont. Wheres the thread of people saying how happy they are they got to play for a whole month uninterrupted?
