I love its fan service and the way it's one of only two games that I know of (the other being Final Fantasy XI) that allows players on all platforms and in all territories to play together on the same servers. Well done Square-Enix!

Been a long time fan of FF and always had a feeling of sadness when I finished the story but with an mmo it never has to end. Yay!

The music is just one of my favorite parts of FFXIV. Good going Soken-san!

FFXIV is the only MMO I have found where I can pop in for 30 minutes and feel like I've accomplished something yet still spend a few hours occasionally and have plenty to do. It's a full featured and gorgeous game with enough casual elements to accommodate my time limited lifestyle.

For Canadian compliance: 4+4+8 =16

I've been a huge fan of Final Fantasy ever since playing through FF1 on the NES. My first MMO was FFXI as well and so when FFXIV came along, I jumped at the chance to play it. I was in the first launch of the game and toughed it out for a bit. But then with 2.0's release I realized that this was a game I was never leaving. It's got the story, characters, combat, and progression that makes a great FF game and the people in the world have been simply amazing (for the most part). I love FFXIV and so this would make a perfect addition to my collection!

As a long time player of FFXI, I can appreciate that FFXIV carries the races and familiar feel I've grown attached to over the years, so there is some definite nostalgia that is immediately felt when stepping foot into ARR, but where the game really shines is that it manages to take a modern approach, with all the features, performance, and general niceties you'd expect from a top tier MMO, and compress it into a neat little multi-platform package.

I have been a PC gamer since I was about 13 (earlier if you count the days where I would play games on the computers at school), and I honestly never thought I'd see the day where I felt the console experience was as fluid as the PC experience. So much so, that I actually prefer the PS3 experience over the computer.

And I know this is a campaign to boost PC sales, and reference how massively adopted the game is vs other popular MMOs of yester-year, but honestly, while it plays perfectly smooth on PC, feels immediately "familiar" to other popular MMOs, to the point where i could pretty much "pick up and play", what blew my mind was the console experience allowing me to take a character through the exact same experiences... and not be frustrated at the lack of a mouse and keyboard. In this regard, FFXIV has done the impossible.

So if you want to sign a copy of a PS3 version and send it my way, by all means, but for the first time in my nearly 20 years of primarily PC gaming, I'd prefer to let my computer take a break while I sit down on the couch, pet my dog, and talk to my wife about how our work day went while enjoying the living room console MMO sweetness that is FFXIV:ARR.

FF14 does a great job of creating a beutiful world thats full of life and personality.

All 3 elements that make up an MMO are top notch and creates some of the best experiences in the industry. These elements are story, graphics, and gameplay.
It's the aesthetic.

I love the aesthetic of the world they've built. It's the first MMO in quite some time to capture my attention for longer than the free playtime that is bundled.
It's the graphics!

Myself, I really love the beautiful graphics. A relaxing escape from every day stress.

I like many things about FFXIV:ARR, but of all those I like the nostalgia and customization the best. A truly immersive experience.

I love how they took the wrecking ball to one of the worst games (if you can even call it that) ever, disposed of the garbage and replaced it with a much more (if not standard) MMORPG experience... a phoenix rising from the ashes. The original was quite likely the most expensive, interactive benchmark I've ever run.
Graphics, graphics, graphics

XIV: ARR is hands down the most beautiful game on the market today. The art design and the graphics engine combine to make an immersive, living, breathing world. It's the attention to detail in environmental design that really stands out, though.

There are times when I just had to stop whatever I was doing while playing and gape at the sunset or snap a screenshot of the play of sunlight and shadow on the ground.

I upgraded my video card just so I could enjoy the visual feast more.

What I love most about Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the feeling I have of belonging to the world. When stepping into Eorzea for the first time, I felt like I was a part of the world, that my actions and the actions of my character actually mattered and would continue to do so for as long as I walked the land.

When meeting other players, I felt like I was meeting other residents of Eorzea and that we could work together to accomplish anything. From helping them to fight a particularly difficult monster or FATE, to accomplishing a quest, to completing a dungeon or defeating a might Primal, I felt like we were ALL part of this world and working to shape it into a place that all could belong.

When traveling to another land, I felt like I was spreading the message that we were all part of this together.

When fighting primals and the Empire, I felt like we were throwing down the gauntlet and saying that we would not go down without fighting to our last breath...and I felt like they were no mere empty words, either.

When successfully completing quests, I felt like I was contributing to the well-being of Eorzea.

When failing any quests or leves or FATEs, I did not let that stop me. I went right back and fought and struggled until I and any other players succeeded at it. I did not let anything bring us down.

Meeting my friends in my Free Company and working alongside them brings a sense of fulfillment and camaraderie that is truly unmatched and brings a strong realization that no one is alone in the world, that there are always friends willing to give a helping hand.

Completing quests, meeting PCs and NPCs, completing leves and FATES, traveling to different lands, being a part of a Free Company, being engrossed and deeply involved in the story of my hero and in the story of all other heroes, I truly felt like everything mattered, that everything I did was important. A true feeling of belonging to the world of Eorzea.

That is why I love Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
