We regret to inform our players that due to issues during manufacturing, the shipment of the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc for Windows version has been delayed to Nov. 21, 2007.

Please note that availability at the retail stores will vary depending on the retailer.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. We are very sorry for this delay.

The US is not the only ones not to get the PC version. I live in Canada and have not gotten it either. Oh well I guess I will spend time with friends and family. PPL should remember there is life outside of the game. :)

I live in saskatoon, canada and 200,000+ people live here.
No place in this city has Wotg for PC.
Ebgames here doesnt even have 360 or ps2 versions yet..
pretty frustrated.
What is the point of restricting the patch date if the largest group of players doesnt get to meet that date anyway?

2) If you read at the top, it makes no mention of affecting only the United States. I quote:

It seems that this would affect anyone on PC platform.

3) If you really think SE is *that* bad of a company, go play Star Wars Galaxies. SOE is a royal clustermuck when it comes to doing anything right.... yet people still pour in their $15 a month to them. On this side of things though, I do agree with the one who contacted SE and asked them for a torrent to release the game with. It would have been a very simple yet elegant solution for them. However, they chose to ignore the customer, which will only come back to bite them right in the profits.

4) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Can we remember that this is only a game. Especially around the holidays, go spend time with family or friends pet iguanas, or whatever.

I'm not so worried about waiting a few days. What annoys me though, is I'm currently missing on a pile of gil I could be earning farming Lynx leathers and other WoTG only gobblie bag items -- I had to turn down a farming invite from friends tonight for that.

my gamestop hasnt even started shipping yet, and ups is off tomorrow along with them, so, my game wont even be there friday, it'll start shipping, which means i get to wait till monday. thanks to college and work, i'll start playing tuesday. so i contacted tech support to see if they could bittorrent the game or at least reset the servers for everyone for PC on friday or give us in-game items or not make us pay the monthly fee or something and they said nothing. GM said the same. good job SE, way to have a global release on multiple platforms and make sure that only PC users couldn't get the game until next week and then NOT offer any apology to your player base whatsoever.

you want my opinion? everyone should go to playonline.com right now and under service and support, write an email of complaint and then talk to a tech support person and complain vapidly. Smile

Ok holy crap ppl... is your life that empty that your gonna freak out like this about a pushed back date? it shipped 1 day late. OMG its the end of the world.....

im not trying to be mean about it but the way ppl are freaking out about this, well its pathetic... is it such a horror story that your may actually have to interact with real live ppl on thanksgiving.... if thats the case you might wanna actually read the little warning/suggestion dialog SE put in there before you log on.

Again sorry to sound so harsh but its just kinda scary that ppl are freaking this bad...

**edit** just so you know im reffering to all the ppl freaking out not just this thread. I wish i woulda had the camcorder at gamestop today when i went to try and pick up a copy... the ppl in line were freaking out at the employee. I mean REALLY freaking out.. the kind of freaking out you do if maybe the pharmacy forgot to stock your life saving medication.. all over a late game..

No the fact of the matter is that they are yet again ******** a portion of their clients. Fine the ship date gets pushed back, ok no problem push it back for EVERYONE not just US PC players only. Are you trying to tell me they just knew that it was going to ship late today? There is no transparency they did not warn us it would ship late until AFTER the ship date, now to to the US holiday the US PC players will not actually get access to this stuff until 6 days after everyone else. And you know when it comes to new items a 6 freaking day headstart is HUGE, the way half these newblets level there will be a lvl65 Scholor and Dancer before I can even go to unlock the damn jobs, and that is ********* I have not been paying square for years to be excluded, and not only excluded but lied to as well.

You want to know what they should have done, they should have rolled it back for EVERYONE not just one platform in one country, and they should have told us upfront, before ship date that it would be late. They droped the ball, period, end of story, gross incompitance should not be excepted when it cause double standards and exclusion.

I can see your frustration from a consumer point of view (mentioned in the beginning of your post), but then you just go on to whine about how you'll be stuck leveling 1DNC when there is already a 65 on the server...who cares?

All this competition makes me nauseous. Why not just enjoy the content when you get it? Countries overseas ALWAYS get product before the US, whether we are talking about FFXI or not. Just because there are delays for one region does not mean that their whole consumer base should have to suffer...THAT would be unfair and unjust.

Take a breather, enjoy your holiday with your family/friends...life is too short to spend it stressing over this crap.

I am trying hard to see SEs point of view, but as you can tell by the subject there you have...

WHEN will they get this **** right? First the mess up on registration keys for PS2 on chains, then Treasure shiped late, now this... GET A NEW GOD DAMN BURNER COMPANY! Sick of this due to an error in production excuse, this is the second time they have used it. Now they screwed over the majority of players in the US this time. WHy does this ***** us over? Well, the ship date was 11/21/07 which means it is due to arrive if we are lucky, on 11/21... ya right. OK so that means it will be delievered the next day 11/22 OPPS that is a national holiday and the F'in STORES ARE CLOSED... OK so then it delievers on black friday... oh ya just want I want to do go pick up my expansion in the choas of people looking for deals, oh wait that doesn't matter anyways BECAUSE UPS DOES NOT DELIVER ON THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING and that is who is shipping Gamestop's orders, OH and forget Best Buy TEHY ARE NOT EVEN CARRYING THE PC VERSION! So MAYBE and that is a BIG maybe we might be able to pick up out expansion on Monday, almost a f$%@ing WEEK after it launchs... Wow I am SOO glad I preordered this god damn expansion 3 months ago... it helped me out LOADS...

For the love of God if the EQ2 disk can ship, wtf is wrong with SE? Here is to you SE, I give you a Happy Turkey Day and a big fat Merry ******* Christmas, I am going to go buy Tabula Rasa now.

With my luck, my copy will be shipped by UPS which doesn't do ground deliveries the day after Thanksgiving. I'll be lucky if I see it Friday, so much for the extra $10 I spent for overnight shipping.

I was told by Gamestop that the Xbox version would be ready for pick up on Wed. but that the PS2 version wouldn't be there til Friday. I'm hoping they don't really know what's happening.

Great i was hoping to have it B-4 ThanksGiving for a B-day present for my Hubby.

What the heck? I ordered the expansion a month ago in early october and now they say this! I want it before I leave for thanksgiving which is thursday. I do pray they have it to me soon enough this week, because I didn't pay extra for next day delivery for nothing. I want to try scholar job quiet badly!

Probably that type of issue in that the Manufacture forgot to get the thing shipped out on time since it is just a one day delay. Also notice that everyone will get the game after WotG was supposed to go live (since places won't have it till after Thanksgiving) as opposed to everyone already having it installed and causing a huge jam into the new areas (Plus jobs and exploring in general).

Only those of us in the US on PC.

JP, EU, and those on PS2/360 in the US will all be able to explore the new areas as soon as they go live.
