Producer Letter 2

Read the 2nd Producer's Letter on our site by clicking below, or read on Sony's site here. April 17, 2003 Welcome to the second installment of the EverQuest Online Adventures producer letter. Each month, we report about important news in the game, discuss game updates and talk about our experiences playing. We were in Halas yesterday, and we saw the beginnings of the new online craze, ice fishing! There was a virtual fishing derby down by the docks. It was quite a sight to see huge barbarians clad in platemail bragging about the salmon that they just caught. We hope that you all enjoy fishing and we'll keep our ears open for comments about the new system. In addition to fishing, the design team has been focused on high-level content. Many of the game systems in EQOA are designed especially for high-level gameplay. As characters become more powerful, they can execute clever strategies and tactics to defeat more challenging encounters. We designed the game to really "take off" at the higher levels, and we're working hard to keep the high-level content fresh, fun and challenging. You'll continue to see additions to high-level content over the years as EverQuest Online Adventures continues to grow in popularity. We want our game to be a greater experience than anything you've played before. We're focused on making a world where you can continue to have a great time with your friends. Some of the new additions include high-level encounters, changing creature populations, improved monster intelligence and epic quests that take you to unexplored areas. The team is playing through the high-level encounters and working on cool ways to make them more challenging AND more rewarding. We think that you will really like the results! For the EverQuest Online Adventures team, the past month has been an absolute dream. As more people come to the game, we get to see our world really take shape. It's so much fun to see everyone enjoying the game and making friends online. As you play through the new encounters and hone your fishing technique, please let us know how you feel about the game by stopping by our message boards. There will be a lot of news over the next month about EverQuest Online Adventures. Tomorrow, April 18, we will introduce a new world server, Proudpine Outpost. In May, we will reveal some of the details of our new Trade Skill system. You should look forward to the Trade Skill system early this summer. Finally, keep your ears open for big news about EverQuest Online Adventures at E3. Sincerely, Ben Bell Producer EverQuest Online Adventures

GAME QUESTS

I AGREE THERE SHOULD BE MORE QUESTS. ESPECIALLY FOR LEVELS IN THE 20'S I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO LEVEL FOR AWHILE. IT IS VERY TIRING AND BORING AT TIMES TO KEEP FIGHTING, AND FIGHTING, AND FIGHTING ETC.

Game improvement

There needs to be more quests for players of all levels. At times the game is very monotonous. All you end up doing is random kills to gain experience. That would be fine if not for the ton of experience you need to gain a level. There also needs to be less running around and more thought evoking challenges. Most of the time there is no need for strategy or thought. It seems like it just is like, "lets go in there and slash and kill."

This is the stupidest most poorly written post I think I have ever seen. Go somewhere, anywhere, else to post messages, and play somewhere else too while you're at it. Go now, run along, shoo, shoo.
