Notice of New Security Features for PlayOnline

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we will soon implement a security feature for your protection known as The Payer Authentication Service (3-D Secure). This will be implemented on July 29 at around 2:00 (PDT) after the scheduled registration server maintenance. You can activate these services now at the below URLs:

Visa customers: www.VerifiedByVisa.com
MasterCard customers: www.SecureCode.com

All customers are encouraged to activate the appropriate service beforehand to avoid any issues once the services are implemented. Anyone updating their payment information after July 29 will need to register with the appropriate service before the change can be made.

* Please be sure to check with your credit card company if you are not sure if this service is supported.

* If you are a current PlayOnline member and your credit card company does not support this service, please contact the Information Center for further assistance. Be sure to have the payment method ready when you contact the Information Center.

Prepaid cards

nevermind my qustion, the bank my card is thru does not offer the service. Btw my Prepaid Card is "Green Dot" easily obtained at many CVS, Eckhard, And Wal-Mart locations across the country. Don't bother calling Play Online today Folks, their line won't pick up and is giving me the Busy Signal. I hope this Helps you guys, and Good Luck!!!

I have a prepaid card, and it's a Mastercard. The site didn't work for me because it says my Card # is invalid. There's no reason this should happen as they actually list the Bank the Prepaid card is under in their list. Any ideas guys? or do you think that site could be overloaded? Or am I screwed like the multitudes, because my bank doesn't offer this "new" service?

At any rate I see a very pissed off player having to call these people 4 days for 4 accounts I maintain with my Husband just to be able to get into my characters. I will also state until this point I never had a problem with SE regarding my accounts because I do use a prepaid card and they can't take what hasn't been loaded.

I have said it before and I'll say it as many times as it takes for it to sink in.... This is the last FF Game I am going to be paying to play for years. (especially after all the wasted time and effort I put in already, and the fact I feel all the money i spent on them has been wasted. it's obvious theres no reward for staying in the game, except talking to a friend or two maybe... isn't that what phones can handle?) At this point I just want to finish the quest from hell(part 1) before ff14 goes live. And *If* theres enough time left over, I'll try to level my Rdms to 75 and rank 10.

their new security feature just got my banned from the game.... GOD DAMN SE
because i have 2 accounts they banned the second one on the account. It would appear that is how they plan on saving us from the Evil RMT's ******* SE really needs to get there **** together. This has been a major hassel .. first with the Security token i lost deactivated reactivated to not use anymore now this ********* where they've banned 3 people i know to not be haxors.... Either way i'm pissed but truth unfortunatly i'll still go crawling back. man i'm a loser.

Entirely unnecessary, I've a mind to discontinue all of my accounts. It's already enough hassle to deal with POL, it's almost like solving algorithms just to log in these days, god forbid your credit card should expire, or you should have a problem with your account. I'm glad SE is ditching POL for XIV.

Until this COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY MEASURE is either REVERSED or amended to accommodate those who are unable to use either verifying services, I am voting my disdain for it with my wallet. I am discontinuing both of my accounts plus any plans for FFXIV. While I hope others will join me, it is unlikely to happen.
