As the first day of BlizzCon 2009 comes to a close, the live news reporting and blogging slows to a temporary halt, until tomorrow. For those of you just waking up, getting off work, or getting online for the first time for whatever reason, we will be posting a recap of today's BlizzCon 2009 events shortly. We have to give credit to our BlizzCon 2009 reporting team, which did an excellent job of covering today's announcements and events.

After the jump, you'll find a brief list of some of the more notable media that other fansites and journalists across the blogosphere were able to capture today. Whether it's a video clip taken from a hand-held camera during a discussion panel or a collection of interesting screenshots, you can rest assured there will be even more media out there by this time tomorrow...

• A small collection of Cataclysm screen caps put together by the MMORPG.com team, including shots of the two upcoming playable races; Goblins and Worgen.

• An even bigger collection of Cataclysm screens and artwork put together by MMO-Champion.com, also featuring a look at the new Race-Class combo chart we featured earlier today.

• An enormous amount of photos of the Cataclysm Preview panel slide show, taken by the MMO-Champion team. For those of you interested in seeing almost every slide presented, check it out. (Scroll down a bit; pics after the text.)

• Two Worgen-related videos from discussion panels by the folks over at WoW.com; a video featuring the Human-to-Worgen animation effect, and a video showcasing the Worgen environment and building styles.

• Also from WoW.com: the site offers a "high quality Cataclysm map," which illustrates the projected geographical/topographical changes the world of Azeroth will undergo after the expansion launches (based on a picture taken during the slide show, it appears).

• IGN posted an interesting, "hands-on" mini-preview of Diablo III, which BlizzCon attendees were invited to play.

• Blizzard's own TwitPic photo feed features a handful of candid snaps from today's costume contest, as well as a few other "Kodak moments."
