STO: New Items and "Season 1.1 Supplemental"

Three new items were added to Star Trek Online's C-Store recently and "Season 1.1 Supplemental" upcoming in early May

In our Q&A with Star Trek Online executive producer Craig Zinkievich last week, ZAM recapped the highlights of "Season One" (STO's first major content patch) and beyond, discovering that "Season Two" will launch sometime in July. Until then, Cryptic Studios will continue to produce more Special Task Force missions and other minor updates, as well as adding more exclusive content to its in-game C-Store. Three new items were added last week; the "Klingon Bridge Pack III: Carrier," the "Federation Fleet Escort – Maelstrom Class" and a new playable race, the "Federation Pakled."

According to the C-Store Web site, the third Klingon Bridge Pack costs 80 CP (Cryptic Points) features the Kor, Kang and Koloth bridges (check out the applicable screenshots here, here and here). The Federation Fleet Escort – Maelstrom Class costs 160 CP and is a variant of the "Dervish Class" ship, available to any Rear Admiral rank Federation characters on your account. Finally, the new Federation Pakled playable race can be obtained for 160 CP and "begin with the Dumb Luck trait (40% increase in susceptibility to placate and confuse powers, 20% percent increase in susceptibility to holds, 6% increase in Critical frequency)," according to the C-Store.

In addition to the new C-Store items, the official "Upcoming Events" calendar lists the "Season 1.1 Supplemental" update beginning in next month, which deploys from May 6 to May 12. The minor update is scheduled to include the tail-end of the new Special Task Force mission, "Undine Terradome" (which we reported last week) and a "Memory Alpha Revamp" that the developers have been hinting at in the official forums recently. A quick glance at the latest Engineering Report sheds some light on what else is planned for the "Season 1.1" update, including the highly-anticipated "Difficulty Slider" feature, the "Injury System," full space auto-fire, a "Joined Trill" for the Klingon faction and more.
