APB Update 1.4.2 Hits Servers Tomorrow, Sept. 16

Patch introduces PureSkill ruleset and weapon balancing changes.

Realtime Worlds just announced that All Points Bulletin update 1.4.2 will go live tomorrow, Sept. 16. According to the post, "1.4.2 brings you the highly anticipated PureSkill ruleset where upgrades are nullified and you can fight on an even playing field! The update also includes the latest weapon balancing changes based on your 1.4.1 feedback!"

The servers will be down from 5-9 a.m. EDT tomorrow, but you can kill some time by checking out the 1.4.2 patch notes after the jump or reading through our previous All Points Bulletin news posts. Have you checked out this Grand Theft Auto-styled MMO yet?

Patch Notes for 1.4.2

GENERAL

  • The PureSkill ruleset has been added - This removes the effect of all upgrades except the ammo carrier. This levels the playing field for a skill and tactics focused ruleset. To play in a PureSkill district select the 'instance' tab from the District Select Screen. Then choose 'PureSkill' from the ruleset drop down menu.
  • A number of post-processing effects have been implemented and tweaked including colour grading and depth of field.
  • An exploit allowing players to hide beneath the freeway in the Financial District has now been fixed.
  • An exploit has been fixed that allowed stunned players to spin their characters to avoid being arrested.
  • A number of client crashes have been fixed.
  • Reward statue plinths no longer de-spawn when rammed by a vehicle.
  • The Marketplace information now correctly updates automatically.

AUDIO

  • A note will no longer continue to play if it is deleted while the entire song is being played.

GAMEPLAY

  • Criminals now have lives on the final stage of 'A Clean Road is a Happy Road' and 'A Keg Too Far'.
  • Medium delivery items have been replaced with small delivery items for 'Bogus Burglary' and 'Hack Attack'.
  • Minimum damage of the Colby SNR 850 has been reduced.
  • Marksmanship damage of the Colby SNR 850 has been reduced.
  • The ability to quick switch has been disabled for the N-HVR .
  • Energizer effectiveness has been increased.
  • Marksmanship accuracy has been improved for all rifles.
  • CCG Minimum Damage has been slightly reduced.
  • CCG Effective range slightly decreased.
  • CCG Fire interval increased.
  • CCG Recoil has been adjusted.
  • Grenade ammunition for the Grenade Launcher has been reduced to $200 a box.

INTERFACE

  • The 'death screen' information has been reduced to allow players to be able to see more gameplay while they're dead. Players will still be able to look at other players stats through the scoreboard (TAB).
