Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley announced on Twitter over the weekend that DC Universe Online is the fastest selling game in the history of the company:

"Working on out-of-stock problems for DCUO. It's our fastest selling game ever. Should have more inventory in Monday."

The tweet actually contained a minor typo since Smedley sent it from his iPhone, but he quickly quickly pointed out his mistake. He also mentioned that DC Universe Online was #1 in sales on Steam last week.

UPDATE: Massively noticed another Smedley tweet: "People are asking what the PS3 / PC split is on sales. It's 52% PS3 and 48% PC." It looks like console players are leading the pack.
