Lineage Eternal's new 15-minute trailer at G-Star

Looking better than ever, Lineage Eternal's new trailer for G-Star 2011 shows off some pretty cool new mechanics.

With Korea's G-Star 2011 kicking off, the trailers and MMORPG reveals have come pouring in. Granted, many of these MMOs might not see North American players for a number of years (if ever), but NCsoft's Lineage Eternal Trailer is looking good enough to share with everyone. The trailer clocks in at just under 15 minutes long, and it really showcases the level of interactivity NCsoft wants to put into the game. I've summarized most of the information after the trailer, so take a peek!

The three classes revealed in the trailer were the Knight, the Mage, and the Spirit Archer.

The Knight is a traditional melee class who has access to several defensive skills, including one that allows him to deflect arrows at the cost of diminished movement speed. The shield block can be destroyed by certain powerful abilities, like the Spirit Archer's powerful Burst Shot.

The Mage is rather unique in this trailer, having access to three different stances, although only two were shown. The first stance, a Destruction Stance, allows the mage to blast her enemies with elemental forces. She gains access to abilities like Fire Wall and Ice Wall, both of which utilize Lineage Eternal's new "Click and Drag" mechanic, where players can manually cast their spells by dragging their mouse over a targeted area (think drawing in Paint, but with Fire!).

The Mage also has a Displacement Stance, which is a stance that focuses heavily on manipulating enemy movement. Levitate your enemies, then throw them at other enemies or slam them into the ground.

Finally, there is the Spirit Archer who seems to play like a traditional ranger class. The one big difference would be his Spirit Animal, which the Archer can summon to imbue his attacks with elemental damage. If he gets overwhelmed, the Spirit Archer can also have his animal transform into a humanoid to protect him with powerful AoE attacks.

NCsoft is really stressing the interactiveness of Lineage Eternal, with grappling hooks to jump over gaps, braziers that can be lit with fire magic to scare ghosts away, and even some hints of 3D height design, as monsters can be levitated off a platform to slam into units below. Lineage Eternal also seems to stress its MMORPG roots, with hundreds of players wandering around in town, and a number of them running past each other in the wilderness. It remains to be seen if instanced content will play a big role in Lineage Eternal.

And that's about it for details! It really looks like Diablo III will be having some hard competition if Lineage Eternal ever decides to make it to North America.
