My first memory is entering Middle Earth and seeing the story from the perspective of another random Hobbit as Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry take off over the rise before the dark rider comes up the road to question us.

My first memory was creating a hobbit burglar and realizing quite early in the prologue scene, witnessing Amdir get stabbed, that this game was going to do a really good job of balancing the whimsy of innocence and the almost-palpable sense of impending dread.

First Memory: Trhing to figure out WASD controls well enough to maneuver my character around the Thorin's Hall area, and just taking in the fact that I was finally in Middle-Earth.

Favorite Memory: Organizing a group of 12 strangers to run The Rift and playing until 5:00 AM when we finally bested the Balrog. The members of this group are still my online friends today.

The first time I played, it was for 72 hours straight during a pre-closed beta weekend stress test. I joined forces with a lore master and we checked out Middle Earth for the first time! It was soo much fun exploring!

Your first memory in LOTRO – My first memory was downloading and installing the game overnight and not being able to sleep well. I went to work and kept imagining what the world was going to be like. I loved Final Fantasy VII, but had never played any kind of MMO, unless you count Diablo II. I was looking for something new, but I knew I didn't want to try WoW. This was an already established game with a great IP (that I also LOVED) and my father-in-law let it slip he played. What a gift! His awesome daughter and a FIL who understands what it is to be a gamer! After creating my first character, I will never forget the nervousness I felt going through the introduction. I had no idea what I was doing and I ran around for an hour clicking things because I was afraid I would miss something and lock my character out of some future experience. It seems silly now, but I thought the world was amazingly huge and couldn't believe how beautiful and varied Archet seemed. My first steps were timid and calculated - now I blaze through impatiently with alts. Ah, memories!
Your favorite memory in LOTRO – I would take the easy way out and talk about a personal accomplishment, but i remember something else vastly more appropriate as a response. One of the quest lines I had trouble finishing involved finding something beneath the Lake in Evendim (because I hadn't really found a kin at the time and didn't have luck finding groups back before I found out about GLFF - heck, I was still posting questions in New Player on the forums!). One day I happened upon a group standing in Tinnudir and was sent a tell asking if I would help in that final instance of the chain. I was ecstatic! It was an exciting trip down to meet what felt like someone's pet turtle that got flushed down a drain and into some toxic ooze (or at least that's what went through my mind). After two attempts, we recovered what was lost (spoiler-free post, I hope), I was able finish the quest chain and the scenes at the forge in Imladris actually elicited an audible "wow" from me for the first time. I had been through many areas and moments where the word crossed my mind, but at that moment, I could not contain myself with silence in a room empty but for a guy with a gaped mouth and dark but for the glow of a monitor. Moments have come since that also get me talking, but that is still my favorite.

My first memory was being overwhelmed and taken aback by the introductory quests in Bree-land that would set the stage for the continuous and immersive storyline following the fellowship through Middle-Earth.

My favorite memory is fighting through the skirmish Ford at the Bruinen, with hordes of enemies encroaching the shore towards Rivendell and the breathtaking instrumental and choral music setting the tone of the ominous and impending invasion I was asked to prevent.
