I know many of you are looking forward to this game, so I figured I would mention that a form will be posted on the main site tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00 PST. The signup period will go through February 4th and will not be on a first come, first serve basis, so there's no rush to be the first one to sign up. Here's the link to the WoW site.

anyone know why all the toons have smallish heads and huge hands and/or arms? Is this a stylistic holdover from the other games in the franchise? Or is it something from the P&P rpg?

It looks kinda strange ...

the only blizzard game that is good is diablo 2 expansion, i am oplaying it, the rest really suck (all warcrafts//starcrafts) blizzard would make more money upgrading diabglo's than warcrafts. i would be playing everqwuest right now but ..... 12.99 a month to play a game when i can play identicle ones for free that are a total population of 0 ..... everquyest should be free and lords of everquest should cost money ... lord of everquest is probally the worst game i played ..... good graphics and junk but just like wrcraft3 and LOE takes like .. a super computer .... shouldnt need new computer just to play it. but as word of warcraft goes... if it is like warcraft//starcrasft ill give it a -99999 on a scale to 1-10 (10 being good.. not my number pick is in the negatives) but anyway w/e

Blizzard makes great games, that's very true. Sony has nothing on Blizzard when it comes to making games might be a bit of a stretch though....

If anyone can de-thrown EQ I'd say Blizzard has the best chances but every few months now the state of EQ keeps eveolving so it's hard to keep up with that. Sony now has YEARS of experience with MMORPGs and that's hard to beat as a "new kid on the block" in this field. Because of all the expansions and the original EQ world there are a LOT of differenct places to play and different ways to play, that's hard to beat and no one has yet(that's open to debate, but the numbers say EQ is still the leader).

Blizzard's game looks great and I look forward to playing it. Everyone has a LOT of expectations for this game and I hope it lives up to them. I'd rather not jump into it thinking it's going to be the "holy grail" of gaming then being disappointed. Let's play it and accept it for its own strengths and weakness and hope it is indeed the game we hope it will be.

Actually, you don't have a premium membership on EQ Allakhazam site. You have a premium membership on Allakhazam... period. Which means all sites in the Allakhazam realm (including Lucy and EQAtlas). You can check out the placeholder World of Warcraft Allakhazam site at Allakhazam's site.

As for the game being terrible / blowing EQ out of the water, I doubt it will be either. It will likely be a very good game (better than EQ) but will take a long time to evolve enough to be worth replacing EQ, and even then, EQ certainly won't die.

This game will blow EQ out the water in ever aspect PERIOD& POINT BLANK. I cant wait till it comes out , and to see how it changes. Blizzard just makes the best games so i know its going to be great!

The Warcraft line was good, but certainly not as good as Rise of Nations or Kohan in my mind.

The depth and breadth of EQ will be exceptionally difficult for anyone to match, simply by virtue of four plus years of evolution.

I will try WoW, just like I try all the new online RPG's.

I have no emotional investment in the success or failure of any game, and frankly I wish they would all be great and successful. Then I would have many options for my personal entertainment.

To this point I've played them all, and with the exception of Earth & Beyond and Asheron's Call and some stupid one from Germany I've spent lots of time in each of them.

To this point I always end up back in EQ, and stop playing the others after a while.

Perhaps WoW will be the one that keeps my attention. Only time will tell.

But it's really rather juvenile to base your outlook on whether one game will harm another game. It's really not "Highlander" out here, there can be more than one.

If we have a premium account on the EQ allakhazam site, will it carry over to the WoW allakhazam site (when it's created)?

The only major problem I see with it so far is the limited choice of classes (8). It's nice to have a wide variety in EQ so that there are very different playing styles available.

Anything new is exciting to me. EQ, DAOC, SB, Horizons (bahh, why even mention this pathetic piece of crap), SWG, AO, AC2. All had nice ideas or implementation.
Hopefully WOW will do well with what they want to do.
