If you have the drive and desire to make your name known through the excellence of your writing, email your resume and a news story sample – any topic as long as it is MMO related, comprising 200 to 400 words, including examples of images you would choose – to shawkes@zam.com

Are you a World of Warcraft fanatic? Would you like to be involved in ZAM and Wowhead's coverage of the world's biggest MMO? We are looking for volunteers who can contribute in morning and evening time periods--Eastern Standard Time.

The ideal applicant would be able to produce responses to Blue posts which are concise and well written with minimal need for editing, PTR notes, hotfixes and so on. An accurate and efficient writing style is a must, as well as strong knowledge of the game.

Are you avid for Aion? If so, we are looking for writers who want to make regular contributions to our Aion website and make their voice front and center of the community.

If you are an Elder Scrolls obsessive, perhaps already part of the excited community for the ZeniMax title, we will have the platform to really show off all you know about Tamriel. We have plans for very particular coverage of The Elder Scrolls Online and we would like you to be part of it.

Are you a Neverwinter genius? If you want us to feature your thoughts on the F2P MMO in a weekly column, send us an example of what your first edition would be.

Also, we are looking for writers/bloggers who want to write on a regular basis about other specific games that fire their passions. Are you an avid player of an MMO and want to see your thoughts highlighted in a column each week?

Are you an avid Twitch streamer? Do you want to broaden your viewership and reach out to show just how great your content is? We are also looking for volunteers to ramp up our official Twitch page. If you wish to apply, just send a link to your page via the email mentioned above. Those moving to the next stage of recruitment should be contacted within two weeks of submission, we apologize but we will not have time to respond to every application.

Successful applicants will be expected to produce daily quality news stories -- or weekly editorials -- in a timely manner. In return you will have the prestige of being a part of ZAM, developing your experience in journalism, receive advice and training from our experienced staff and get insider access to upcoming games and industry sources.

Our volunteer writers regularly receive early access to games for review purposes and even, on occasion, travel to meet the developers of some of the biggest games on the market.

Are you the voice we have been waiting for?

Hey Jarimor

I am interested in joining the ZAM writing team.

I'm an avid gamer, and love to write about game lore, and creating in character journals and publications. I'm also a casual roleplayer, and enjoy creating digital art.

I started my own roleplay web publishing house, called The Herald Project. It's primarily a fan fiction publication, which supports the roleplay community of Guild Wars 2, and more recently The Elder Scrolls Online and Wildstar Online. I work with a small team of volunteer writers from these RP communities, and together we write and I produce the publications.

Here is a link to the journal I am currently writing for Wildstar - its a tongue in cheek survival guide.

Here is a link to the first edition of the Tamriel Witness, I penned the interview questions, and wrote the small amount of narrative. It was a real player interview, in character; the first of many I hope.

Please let me know if you would be interested in me applying.

Kindest regards
Fornax

Hi Aeresa,
A writing example would be useful to get an idea for your style of expression. However a link to your twitter account etc would also be helpful.
Sorry for the late response.
File Attachments?

First, are resumes absolutely required if it's a volunteer position? Will someone be disqualified if they do not include their resume?

Secondly, for the new sample story (and resume if applicable), do you prefer attachments (and if so, what attachment do you prefer? .doc, .txt etc) or just written in the e-mail?

A lack of resume won't automatically mean disqualification, though including one is useful
Submissions should be through an attachment in the email or links to previous publications on blogs or other sites.

I have kept copious notes of various areas that are common knoledge between high level members but virtually undocumented in Zam or other lessor online guides. I used to give a daily 411 update. I am only 87 in regular everquest and a returning member which I feel comprises a large segment of the current play population. Topics I feel current and relavent include:

--How to make looting hotkeys
--How to negociate group slots in higher groups.
--How to deal with your veteran ego in a environment with players filled with pride for their prior achievements but are relatively behind the skill curve. Perspective (veteran) Perspective (New player with all skills at their fingertips) Perspective (Dealing with the injured veteran player who came back to revisit a place they felt safe, and gets no respect)
--How to progess as a returning member to max level and have a good time without power leveling and making steady daily progress.
How the loyalty system works?
For what the heck is an anchor used?
Do I want to raid?
What a family guild is likely to offer, shortcommings and benefits.
The 7 No Nos of guild interaction.
If you play a female character, what do you do in a group when asked if you are male or female.

I started playing Everquest in May of 1999, and have close to 1000 days played collectively among my characters. I have left and returned 3 times for a year off. This time Sony has refined a number of motivators to keep people engaged. Previously Sony seemed to be of a mind that if they could just get you grouping or in a raid guild, you would feel obligated to play and in time the ups and downs of game play would be overcome by these obligations.

Current Sony client retention strategy seems as varied as the players. I would like to discuss this topic in a series of articles.

I certainly have never been a fast leveler, but I enjoy the game, and have friends from the full spectrum of players, hard core high level raiding, to casual lets go plunk some light blues player. In addition, I have great interest in trade skills and would like to identify the useful items in the game currently crafted and the tradeskills that seem most successful.

I believe from these few notes you can get a grasp of my general writing style, which I recognize is a little rigid, but I am working on that. However the skills that make me analytical also guide me to see the Norratian universe with a perspective that can be shared among readers since I strive to be sufficiently detailed in my discussion so as members can recreate, relive and perhaps expand upon the ideas I pass along.

Riviera, Bert Server 88 chanty, Rainpuff 70 Ranger, Weepy 73 Shadow knight, and some spoiled little characters.

I hope to hear from Zam

Good day
