WildStar's State of the Game: October

Jeremy Gaffney talks about what's been added recently in their F&F Alpha

It's been a few months since Carbine talked about their Friends and Family Alpha testing and showed off that short trailer for it. They've updated their beta signup page recently, but other than the normal weekly updates on system design and what the different zones look like, we haven't heard much about how testing's going. If today's WildStar Wednesday is any indication, then Carbine has been fairly busy since that initial post.

Executive Producer Jeremy Gaffney gives a list of the various changes they've made to the alpha since that original video. New zones beyond the early leveling zones we've been shown so far, dungeons they're getting ready to show players, and raid content that's still being mapped out and designed to take advantage of WildStar's unique systems like freeform targeting and the heavy movement/reaction combat. In addition, there's some internal testing going on with the developers, from 20v20 PvP battles between people at Carbine to prototyping new crafting systems. They're even bringing completely fresh players to the studio to watch them play and find out what they like about the game and what doesn't work.

If you'd like to find out more about the current state of the WildStar alpha, head over to the WildStar blog and read Jeremy's post. While you're there, don't forget to sign up for the beta so you can run around Nexus and see the game for yourself.
