Blizzard brings the top World of Warcraft and StarCraft II players to Shanghai

If you happen to be in Shanghai China, you're in luck - you get to see the Battle.Net World Championship live and in person! For the rest of you however, there is another way... 

This weekend, November 17-18, 2012, Blizzard is hosting the Battle.Net World Championship at the Shanghai Expo-Mart in Shanghai China. This event will showcase the very top World of Warcraft and StarCraft II players in the world, pitted against each other in a round-robin tournament. There is over $500,000 in prizes up for grabs, not to mention the bragging rights that come with calling yourself a World Champion.

Realizing many of you are probably not in China, Blizzard has you covered. You can catch all the action from the comfort of your bean bag chair, no more than an arm's length away from your favorite bag of chips on the official Battle.net World Championship website

Details:

  • The opening ceremony kicks off at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, November 16th and continues all night until 8:00am EST. The festivities pick up again at 8:30pm Eastern Standard Time.
  • The Grand Finals matches for World of Warcraft will begin at 4:30pm EST on Sunday, November 18 and for StarCraft II at 6:00pm. 

So stock up on your favorite all-nighter gaming food, then head over and bookmark the Battle.net World Championship website so you're ready to rock out when the time comes!
