MLG Launches Premium Streaming Service
MLG.TV delivers premium content to web and mobile
With another step forward in the growing popularity of eSports, MLG has stepped up to the plate to deliver its own live streaming service, MLG.TV. At a crucial time where the streaming service Twitch hops over to consoles to make streaming easier and more accessible to the masses, MLG enters the foray with a web and mobile streaming outlet that has already seen tremendous growth in the service's pre-launch beta event--the network saw over 1,000 percent growth in media consumption and has been a huge trend in social media avenues in the past few weeks.
"The MLG.TV network and video player are architected to deliver the highest quality viewing experience possible, utilizing the most reliable streaming technology available,” said Sundance DiGiovanni, co-founder and CEO of MLG. With the service's upcoming schedule of shows, it looks to revolutionize streaming with a smorgasboard of original content along with live streaming major e-sports events.
Professional gaming teams have flocked towards MLG's new service for broadcasting their own progress. There's no doubt to the service's popularity, but it will be interesting to see how MLG fares with Twitch, Ustream, and other streaming services on the market. It's clear to see that competition in this market keeps things interesting, as MLG.TV may be set to outgrow Twitch's popularity, but will we see the giant purple text box overshadow MLG's streaming service? Let the competition begin.
