Neverwinter State of the Game
Andy Velasquez addresses the community with a short article.
Neverwinter, the action MMO by Perfect World and Cryptic was a hit when it came out a few months ago. The game continues to receive new content and hasa thriving community, which the Lead Producer Andy Velasquez addresses in his Neverwinter State of the Game article.
The Perfect World team just shipped its first expansion, Shadowmantle, and was met with positive response. Andy Velasquez addresses the expansion with some discontent, saying "Shadowmantle went up onto our Preview server around a month before the update was scheduled to be released, but ideally, we would like to have our updates available even earlier." The theme of supporting the players and community is evident throughout the entire article. Andy Velasquez continues, stating the importance of player feedback. During the test phase for Shadowmantle, the refinement system was the target of a great deal of community backlash, and as a result, the team has decided to implement a change to remove the AD cost of refinement. I found the personal tone of the address very impressive, and Perfect World seems dedicated to making the player experience very good. They continued this trend by announcing the implementation of full language support for Russian players with the post Shadowmantle patch.
