Guild Wars 2: Battle for Lion's Arch

The Final Battle Begins on March 4 with the Battle for Lion's Arch content release.

The Final Battle Begins in Guild Wars 2 next week as players begin the journey that takes the war to Scarlet. In Escape from Lion's Arch that released last week, players had to evacuate the city and save as many citizens as possible. Next week, on March 4, the Battle for Lion's Arch content patch will go live and have players gather as one to take back the city of Lion's Arch!

Alongside the announcement of next week's content patch, ArenaNet has unveiled the Living World Atlas. This new, interactive site will lead fans through the current living world storyline, reliving past releases through concept art, screenshots, video, audio clips and more. In addition to reliving old content, fans will be able to discover new content related to next week's patch! Go to atlas.guildwars2.com to check out this new experience.

ZAM will be taking questions from the community to ask ArenaNet about next week’s update. Leave us a comment below containing your question. Not only will your question be included in our Q&A later this week, anyone who asks a question will be entered into a drawing to win a code that can be redeemed for 400 gems! In addition to the gem codes, anyone who submitted a question this week or for the last two patch Q&As will be entered to win one of two codes for the Digital Deluxe edition of Guild Wars 2!

Only a few members of the captain's council showed they are worth their seat. Will we see some of them retiring?
Questions :)

Q: Will the restoration of L.A bring a remodeled Lion's Arch?

Q: What are one or some of the big implementations we as players should look forward to in one of these BIG upcoming patches?

Q: Should we be expecting the Tengu race to be a playable class in the future?
Questions for ANet
# Feb 25 2014 at 6:35 PM Rating: Decent
1) Is the present LA event (rescuing) an attempt to reduce zerging in Living Story events?
2) Is the big feature build you said that will be coming in March still on pace for March?

Thank you.
Pure Questions (get it? Because of my username and- yeah...)

Q: Have any plans been made for the future of Lion's Arch? E.g. Will it remain destroyed and become a new explorable zone, be rebuilt in its exact former glory or a restructuring of the main hub area's layout?

Q: Will the Assault Knight, as seen on the Guild Wars 2 Atlas, be some form of structured battle in Lion's Arch similar to the Twisted Marionette, or will it be a newly introduced Twisted Watchwork creature that we fight in the same manner as other enemies?

Q: Bit more of a selfish question; Will we, the players, be able to sport an 'evil' version of the Tempered Spinal Blades back item akin to what the Assault Knight sports? ;)

-Will personal story stay at the current end or will we see any improvement towards it?
-Are you thinking of doing anything towards preventing leeching in world events where active player number is important like LA ,Tequatl, Wurm?
-You said that team will have a break for the "big feature patch" after the first living story season. Is there an estimated time for that waiting part?
-Guild and party systems need really lots of work for the QoL. Will we have a CDI topic for it?

New content testing [inc. AFK rewards]
# Feb 25 2014 at 4:59 PM Rating: Decent
With the latest patch people who AFK receive full rewards when they complete the event. I'm not for this mechanic as it means 0 effort = max reward, you leech off of others; but I will use and abuse it, AFKing for the full hour to get that 1200 citizen loot. My question is why isn't stuff like this picked up in testing? Also, the citizens number was reduced from 1500 to 1200 for maximum rewards, again why was this not playtested before hand? What are they doing to improve the experience of players before the patch comes out, because due to the amount of edits that need to be made (event reward criteria adjustment, AFK kick timer adjustment) it seems like there is no testing team in the studio? Will we see this trend continue into next patch?

If you need more evidence look to the past. The Jungle Wurms have had a few bug fix patches, EoTM bugged at lauch with no overflows being created and ended up crashing, Marionette experience bar overflowing, inventory resizing, Wintersday gifts dropping in WvW well past Wintersday etc. It seems like the testing team is poor, if one exists, so why isn't this area being addressed?
History Shapes Today?

Q: What are the biggest 3 things you've learned from previous Living Story segments that have shaped how you've done Escape from Lion's Arch, as well as the new Battle for Lion's Arch?

Q: Will we see more story with this patch? I know it's supposed to be wrapped up with this patch but the last patch had some idle conversation but not real story scene. which I tend to enjoy.
Are the tengu are going to take part of this event?
