Elder Scrolls Online: Craglorn Reveal
Will ESO evade endgame ennui with its first adventure zone?
Endgame content can make or break an MMO. Even though Elder Scrolls Online is only three days old, it's time to look toward the future. Luckily, Zenimax Online has already announced its first content update: Craglorn, a major adventure zone with plenty of max. level content.
Craglorn plot mini-spoilers from 0:49 to 1:05.
A few key points:
- The main city in Craglorn is Belkarth.
- Content starts at Veteran Rank 10.
- Exploration content is built for groups of 4.
- Delves are instanced to your party, featuring Skyshards and boss fights.
- "...like a mini-dungeon set up for just your group."
Most significantly, Craglorn introduced Trials, the "large-group veteran PVE system" designed for groups of 12 and "the best of the best."
- Features environmental hazards and bosses with unique tactics.
- Trials are timed, with limited resurrections which count against your time.
- Best times added to a leaderboard, with unknown rewards for top groups.
Initial community reactions seem positive, and we can see why. Today's peak peek piqued our interest, and looks like a promising start for proactively addressing the endgame. Amid quiet skepticism of ESO's longevity, Craglorn's spire inspires confidence in the future of Tamriel.
