Ryse: Son of Rome Coming to PC

The previously exclusive Xbox One launch title will be releasing this fall on PC.

Ryse: Son of Rome originally released late last November as an Xbox One exclusive launch title. Almost a year later, Crytek, the developers behind Ryse, have announced they will be releasing the game for PC sometime this fall. For those that have been waiting, the PC edition will include a few extra bits of awesome including all of the DLC so far released for the Xbox One edition as well as being able to support resolutions up to 4k!

Ryse: Son of Rome has players fighting as Marius Titus, a soldier who rises to the rank of general in the Roman army. He fights for the honor of Rome and to exact revenge on those who murdered his family. In addition to the Marius's story and the stunning visuals of environments from Rome to Britannia, players will be able to enter the arena as gladiators with friends in this horde-style cooperative mode.

This announcement comes a few months after it was revealed that Crytek was experiencing some financial woes. Could this move be a way for Crytek to regain a sturdier stance as a development company? Either way, the future doesn't look too bright for a sequel to Ryse: Son of Rome after reports earlier this summer saying that a deal between Crytek and Microsoft broke down over intellectual property (IP) rights.

Do you think this is a plan for Crytek to get more money out of Ryse, or maybe you don't care about the company and are just excited to finally play the game on PC? Let us know and come back to ZAM for your MMO and Gaming News.
