The Sep. 17 maintenance corrected the following issues: - Players who completed the Mhaura quest "Recycling Rods" did not receive a reward. - A certain mechanism in Newton Movalpolos was not working properly. Also, we made the following adjustment: - Adjusted the item drop rate of monsters in Attohwa Chasm. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hrm.. I wish people would stop complaining about all this... and actually do something about it.

SE has GIVEN the JP market ... astronomical ammounts of more money. (and im the last person in the world about greed)

Ive read this.. and people are stating.. well if you dont like it.. quit. And to that i say... No.. i rather think I ll stay.. and do something about it. quitting is curing the diease by killing the patient.

Ive heard those who say " ITS BECAUSE OF SHIPPING AND CUSTOMS!!" And i hope your brain doesnt leak out of your ear when you lay on one side while you sleep.

A company.... who has made MILLIONS upon millions of dollars, Who has even made a massive ammount of money.. on the export of games to NA.. wouldnt be aware of customs laws? And completely incapable of shipping in compensation to allow for that time?

No.. im sorry.. thats simply incorrect. This IS a massive Bias tward JP. And this will not stop, until NA voices are heard. So the choice is simple... whine and complain about it..... or do something about it.
An explanation for the whining

I'm not complaining like a lot of the other people here, but just to rationalize - You might think that this is just a minor issue for the North American players...ooh...having to wait 4 or 5 days...

But a lot of the people complaining about this are complaining because they see it as another item in a long pattern of discrimination against the US players, with the maintenance windows, the delayed-for-little-to-no-reason US release (especially the US PS2 version), GM interactions, and let's not forget people's complaints about ping time (which I don't put much stock in at all, since I've beaten JP players to Hoo Mjuu on multiple occasions)...

So don't just put them down because you think they're complaining about what you see as an isolated incident, as they don't see that way.

And as a side note, yes, there are people in the new zones. Yesterday's Conquest Results should make that abundantly clear.
This is lame..

Oh come on, this is ridiculous. I've imported NA here and now I have to import the NA expansion too, so I have to wait like 7+ days, and I still don't complain. You're complaining about 5 days.. that's just lame.

jp and europe got CoP already..
jp can register CoP -> they CAN access new areas
europe's can NOT register CoP -> they Can NOT access new area

period.
Please.. simple solution...

Um.. If you think SE is biased just dont buy/play their games.

I would be willing to bet that very few, if any, players will quit over SE letting Japan/Europe get the expansion 4-5 days before the USA players get it.

If you really are all tore up over it and ready to have a breakdown because of it there is something wrong with you... just show your disapproval by not playing FFXI anymore.

Btw... the only European players who can go into the new areas are the ones who just now got FFXI... almost a whole year AFTER the USA did. In order to get into the CoP areas if you live in Europe is to have bought the newly released EUR version of FFXI... which means starting as a level one character.
The people in EUR that has been playing FFXI has been playing on the USA version of the game, and they CANT get into the CoP areas til the 21st. (Unless they bought the EUR version and if they did they have to start all the way over.)

Quit Yer Bitchin'

Alright for some clarification who the hell cares if someones OWNS the game before you because it is USELESS to have until the 21st anyways. Because YOU CANNOT ACCESS CoP Areas until that date. NO EU can't enter the zones, NO Japan can't enter the zones period. Not until the 21st. I thought someone said the above information before me yet you rant thinking it's not fair... they can't do anything with CoP anyways until the 21st so... what's the point of the **********

Think about it, if you have the game there, and can register it, what is there to stop an american player from ordering it from Europe and registering it? It's been tried by my friends, they thought they could cheat the system, but they get an error message saying that CoP cannot be resitered until the 21st of September, 2004.

Well, my friends can't register it cause we are in America, just talked to some guy in Europe who was able to enter Attowha Chasm(sp?). And there are Japanese players in all of the new areas too, just do an /sea all 75 and you'll see them in all sorts of new areas. There are a lot of people in the Promyvions. And go to Jeuno, you will find that many japanese players are shouting for alliances to go to the Promyvions to do that stuff. Looks like we're left in the dust again >.< Oh well, I'm happy we get it!

OMFG you guys do realize its import laws that is causing the delay... half the boxes are JUST getting through customs here while a lot of the overseas places have had it for 2 weeks and have been waiting since it travels through faster there.

Its not a SE biased, they do the server work WHEN THEY HAVE WORK, and the shipments come ONCE THEY GET THOUGH CUSTOMS which can take 1 - 3 weeks depending on the items. Grow up already, if it pisses you off people have the game before you go play something else... the prices will be dropped by us anyway once more NA players start dropping the prices.

um... the JP and EU have had the expansion for quite a few days already. yes SE is biased, and if you believe otherwise, give me proof that they aren't. originally they announced a WORLD-WIDE release of CoP. then, all of a sudden, the dates change and JP gets the game before us, but US and EU dates are the same. THEN, EU date changes to coincide with JP release. on top of that, many recieved the game 2 days before the new JP/EU release date. US is stuck with the 21st. so we have to deal with the incredibly high prices that greedy individuals decide to put on the AH until we can go to the new areas. apparently, either SE thinks very lowly of their American subscribers, OR JP have cried about us getting so far in the game when it took them months, that they complained to SE. either way, NA get screwed over once again.

No, we can't. I tried zoning into Attohwa Chasm while doing my RSE in Maze of Shakarami (or whatever) and was not allowed to do so. Basically got the same effect as when you try to take a Chocobo into the city.

You cant get in there without the expansion being registered. So you need to own and have regiester CoP before youll ever be able to acess the zones.

I thought COP was being simultaneously released in NA, JA, and EU...besides, why would they put something on the US site that had nothing to do with us?

I don't understand why they would release the two there before here. It probably is a bias. But I can still wait a few days for this to happen. If you want Square-Enix to shape up, then go e-mail them, don't buy Chains of Promathia, start a sit-in-esque thing and get lots of other angered people to not buy CoP, and cancel your subscription. They'll notice and change if they see lots of people doing that. Talking about it here won't help much, unless you're gonna go and do all that stuff I talked about.

But I won't help, as I really don't care if someone gets the game a week before hand and has to deal with all the bugs. They'll have found all the problems, and us NA players can just have a nice bug-free Movalpolis.
