October-December Announcements Part 2

The holiday season is here and the Final Fantasy XI development elves have been busy putting together goodies for all the good boys and girls of Vana'diel. We are planning our next major version update for Thursday, December 9. The details of the update are as follows: There will be several new quests and events added to the Promathia areas. New quests will also be added in Non-Promathia areas. New monsters (including notorious monsters) will be added. Over 15 new "orb battles" will be added. Several new weapons, types of equipment, and items will be introduced. The difficulty of selected Promathia missions will be adjusted. Tavnazian Archipelago supply quests and regional teleportation will become available. Chat filter options will be expanded. A new Gobbiebag quest will be introduced. Shortcuts into Promyvion - Vahzl for those who have partially or fully completed the Promathia mission will be added. "Temporary items" found on the Balltista playing field may now be stored in one's inventory for the duration of the match(es). Also several previous "special" rules will be implemented permanently. A new point system for rating Ballista participants on their performance will be introduced. The stack number for several select items will be increased from 12 to 99. In accordance with the adjustments, players will be unable to put items up for auction for a short period of time. Details on this temporary maintenance will be provided soon. Several previously unstackable foods will now be stackable. The duration and effect of certain foods will be adjusted. The Old Sabertooth in Sauromugue Champaign will no longer drop any items. The variety of items that can be dug up using the "Scavenge" ability will be increased. A new thief job trait will be added. The potency of etudes will be adjusted. "Spirit Link" will now heal a wyvern's status ailments. The accuracy of "Blood Pact" attacks during magic bursts will be adjusted. The strength of "Blood Pact" attacks will not increase as much when fighting weaker enemies. The order of messages that appear when using the /nominate, /vote and /propose commands will be adjusted The fee collected when placing items on auction will be determined by the current auction price, not the store/guild selling price. In addition to the changes mentioned above, many other adjustments are being made. A complete list of all changes will be available on the day of the update. Also, we are planning several new events for the end of the year, so keep your eyes open! Another issue being addressed during this version update is the monopoly over certain monsters and items by a number of players. The development team is currently working on several methods to combat these types of actions. Some methods include the introduction of similar items, and new ways of obtaining items. Articles 23, 24 and 25 of the PlayOnline User Agreement as well as Article 6 of the Finaly Fantasy XI User Agreement specificly prohibit the sale of any in-game money, characters, and/or items on internet auctions, etc. Any players found participating in RMT (Real Money Trading), whether it be buying or selling, may have their accounts terminated. Please consider the consequences before partaking in actions that may result in the destruction of all your player characters. Finally, for all existing and future Windows version players, we have developed a new benchmark program to test the playability of Finaly Fantasy XI on your personal computer. "Vana'diel Bench 3" will not only display the stunning landscape of the Lufaise Meadows, but will also offer a sneak peak into some of the most exciting cutscenes from the Chains of Promathia missions! To download this free software, visit the Final Fantasy XI homepage, or any participating game sites.

supply & demand
# Dec 25 2004 at 4:23 PM Rating: Decent
k makin the items rare/ex is a bad idea b/c many ppl use nm drops to fund their jobs and crafting, now if u dont understand the making the drop rate higher and lowering spawn time thing ill explain it, by allowing more items to hit the ah there will b ppl who will b in competition to sell the item faster so they undercut the other sellers on ah, and with a large # of a certain item ppl will not want to wait for the other 20 items ahead of them so the post the item for less, slowly the price will drop and stabalize at a much lower price b/c if u kno an item is sellin for less than its normal price of course ure gonna buy the cheaper one, this in turn forces ppl like gil sellers to lower their prices to compete with the bargain sellers.

its simple economics dealing with supply and demand. if there is a low supply the item sells for more b/c it is hard to come by and the low supply is not meetin the high demands. now if there is a large supply and low demand b/c the large supply is more than meeting demand the sellers will compete to sell their supply by droppin the price. Its this reason diomonds cost so much in rl b/c the diomond companies only allow a trickle of diomonds onto the market to keep a high value on the product, this is also y nm drops r expensiv b/c u could kill the nm lets say 20 times b4 u got a drop, this makes the item in short supply and so the buyers compete for the item by offerin more gil than another buyer, this is not wat we want, we want the sellers of the items compeyin for us to buy their item by offerin low prices.
so to sum it up to deal with the gilsellers u must deal with the product they sell by makin it a commonly dropped item which allows any average joe schmoe to get it as equally as a gil seller and giv the gilsellers competition on the ah forcin them to drop their prices which in the long run will make it not worthwhile to sell gil
.......sry i was a bit long winded but u get that way when u camp stroper chyme for 3 days kill him 60+ times and only get one drop as well as tryin to fight gilsellers for the nm

Hey guys, anyone use e-bay, I buy and sell stuff there all the time. Its pretty secure to, if you get screwed you can get reembursed for things and e-bay has all the seller's and buyer's info. Go on www.ebay.com and type in "Final Fantasy XI", now you will get a bunch or entrys for the game, but I guarantee you'll find at least one person selling FFXI gil on e-bay... These to be seem to be the dumbest of the dumb... I bring this up because some user actualy e-mailed my e-bay account asking if I wanted to buy gil!!!? Needless to say he got reported to e-bay and SE... if only they were all that stupid...a man can dream...a man can dream...
Rare/Ex Problem

Guys

I hear your cries about the NM camping and gilsellers, but if SE makes such items as the Emp pin and Leaping boots Rare/Ex, that will only magnify the problem! Think about it, everyone that would want or possibly want this item would be camping it, so instead of competing against gilfarmers you will be competing against the possible hundreds of people that want this item that couldn't afford it in the beginning...
RE: Rare/Ex Problem
# Dec 09 2004 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
Hmmm... I actually never thought of it that way... But now i have taken the time doing so and come to this conclusion... I think it still would help more than hurt.

Ok here is what I'm hinking. Lets use the Emperors Hairpin as example. I know most people, including myself, would glady hunt an item that is as good as this, but not everyone does, do they? Some people might prefer other means of getting a hold of these items, such as synth, harvest, mine or whatever for the gil to buy them. And by making it Rare/Ex they MIGHT skip it altogether... Ok, I'll admit.. its higly unlikely, but still... And I don't know how you feel, but hunting the same NM over and over can be very tedious... Hunting it only once until you get what you want might actually be fun! And then you move on to your next NM to get that other piece you need... And stop hunting it forever once you have it. While this would take away from hard core hunters (including me... atleast in my book I quealify) I think we would gain more than we lose. Although it would be a little sad to see all my hours of spasm inducing make-your-fingers-bleed macro bashing training go down the drain so to speak...

And I've often heard that by increasing the drop rate and decreasing the spawn time would fix this.. A theory I not only does not support, but don't even understand... How would that help? The very same people would still hunt the item and still do it as frequently seeing as the more there are of an item the less it would cost, thus making the amount of gil gained from every drop be less... In the end it remains as it is today.

HOWEVER... If they would make the items Rare/Ex AND increase the drop rate and decrease the spawn time... Then it would be alot easier for those who actually needs it to obtain it and there would be really no cause for anyone that already has it, or that doesn't need it, to hunt it. Unless of course, someone, in a fashion similar to tele-taxis would charge a certain amount to help a stranger get the item in question.. but thats a different story...

I really do not know what they have planned, but im hoping for the above scenario.. as well as making these item easier to obtain.. maybe one time quest with this and other things as reward, so no repeatables here. Maybe allow them to be synthed by certain fairly common materials, although the skill in the craft needed should, in my book, be rather high. Maybe even make them droppable by more than one mob?

In the end, what I've suggested here would make these items attainable by almost anyone. True, you will not be able to be as proud of your equipment as you were before, when averyone in Qufim got blown away by your Leaping Boots, but surely that's not the reason we want these items, is it? We want them to be as good at our jobs as we can be, right?

To close, I'd like to add that I'm really looking forward to see what SE is gonna do about this and as well about the whole Gil slling/buying. Getting rid of gilhunters would solve a great deal of the problems we have. Archers ring anyone?

Whatever they do, I hope and believe it will be for the better. So good luck to us all! ^^

Well met Elvaan Omni! I don't necessarilly agree with the idea of makeing it Rare EX because some people need to camp things for some money, such as ranger and ninja, but if the items could be quested, (ONE TIME QUEST) then everyone would have the oppertunity of getting the items, and with the economy fixes and things being somewhat cheaper even the ranger and ninja hunters could still sell their drops for money to fuel their ninja tools and arrows because they wouldn't need as much money to buy them or the materials for crafting them. So even though I don't agree 100%, you're really thinking in a logical way to benefit all players.

There's enough crap for all of us to deal with on Earth...we don't need more in Vana'diel. Be kind and fair with one another, you'll make many more friends and enjoy yourself far more that way!

I second that..... oh man, i second that. Especially being from Windy... Every damn time I wanna level a new job, either for fun or as new sub, I end up in Selbina no matter what.. for some reson people dont have parties in Maze of Shakrami anymore... It would be so sweet to able to switch to a lvl 20+ job and get a choco to go to jeuno... Or not be forced to lug around on gear you will need in 2 levels...

Rate ut^^

If you happen to see this, S.E, Put a nomad moogle in Selbina NOW!

I was reading today that the brand new World of Warcraft just suddenly lost 300 players, why? Because they were bots. Square Enix really need to stop worrying about losing a few precious accounts that bring in income and seriously spends some time rooting out not only the gilsellers but the bots that many gilsellers use to attain their wealth. Square Enix should up the ante by not only banning people but fining them for breaking the codes of conduct, and possibly bring gilsellers up on criminal charges of "cyber theft" if possible. If SE truly cares and wants the problem solved they should get their hands dirty and not be afraid of pissing a few people off. As for NMs and their item counter parts, it would simply but much easier to make NMs available to also be one time quested monsters, so that everyone that doesn't feel like camping for days on end for whatever item can take up the quest kill the monster once and obtain the item. We all pay the $13 + a month and we should all be intitled to the same oppertunity to monsters and items. I believe this is still fair because the NMs would stil spawn in their regular spots, you could now just do a quest and search a ??? spot now to activate a personal battle to obtain the item, and since the quest is a one time only thing, if you sell the item, the only way to get another is to hunt it the traditional way we have in the past. But everyone should have an oppertunity to obtain items such as Peacock charm, not just the bots and people who have better faster connections, bots, and people who have 12,000,000 + gil to burn on such an item. Square Enix doesn't need to just address the issues, they need to stop them from being an issue permanently!

Perhaps the best solution to stop the monopoly on items is to make all these great NM drops Rare / Ex and impose a time limit on killing said monsters (Like only being able to claim that NM once per week) Then this would force the drop to be guaranteed. And if that were to happen the only people camping Hoo Mjuu would be a horde of BRDs and BSTs. This is just one solution to the problem, what do you guys think?

just found this on POL website:

Quote:
The Dec. 8 version update will raise several items' stack number from 12 to 99.

To prepare for this change, the auction of these items will be restricted, starting from Dec. 5, at 1:00 (PST) until Dec. 8 (the duration of the maintenance period). Players will still be able to bid on items already up for auction. Players will also be able to remove these items from auction if they desire.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Affected Items:
-Ginger Cookie
-Coin Cookie
-Wild Cookie
-Acorn Cookie
-Spicy Cracker
-Red Hot Cracker
-Garlic Cracker
-Garlic Cracker +1
-Goblin Chocolate
-Hobgoblin Chocolate
-Bretzel
-Cinna-cookie
-Wizard Cookie

* All other items will be unaffected.

so in other words, just a cookies/crackers will be upgraded, not ammo/jugs/juice/anything else >_<

Not necessarily... those are jsut the items that are being changed in stack sive from 12 to 99. I'm hoping that they make juice or some of the pies stack... So you can actually reastically AH or carry them.

I also have to wonder if they're gonna change the recipes or yield for the cookies/crackers. The main thing that I'm aware of that stack to 99 are ammo, and those are usually synthed in multiples of 33. *shrug* Would be kinda funny if one day a synth for cookies yielded 12 and the next day it yielded 33. Spread that batter extra thin I s'pose. >.<

Oooo, I was just looking at the part where it said that the chat filters would be expanded and was wondering, could they be adding filters for pets' attacks and stuff during battle?
I've always thought it would be nice to be able to see what summoned/charmed/etc. were doing damage-wise without having to see all of the battle spam for the rest of the entire party!

I think they need to add voice chat for parties.

Think of how much smoother party coordination could go if we could vocally talk to each other? Especially for bcnm coordination.

Gill selling
# Dec 06 2004 at 10:36 AM Rating: Default
First off we know who the gill sellers are..one good way to tell if someone is a gillseller is, if they are above lvl 50, which most are..they never have any AF equipment..if you see a guy constantly in the same place or camping a NM and has no real equipment.guaranteed they are working for the gill sellers..gill sellers have no reason to attain AF for its not sellable.

GM's need to investigate, if you are not guilty of being a gillseller you shouldnt mind a few questions if you are asked.

Gill selling is bad for the game and for the individual economy's.

Its to everyone who loves the games benefit that we stomp out the gill sellers.

good point but many ppl choose not to wear AF when farming or wear AF period cuz it's not as good as other gear. The rank 1 thing is usually a dead give away. And being THF rank one is another at higher levels.

1. New Job BLUE MAGE come on, it would be a fantastic and fun job, fight monsters, learn their special skills/spells and use them back on them!

2. Ninja, last time I checked shinobi were stealth assassins, yet they don't act like it have NO abilities except the 2 hour which is really only good for a free death or warp.

How about a Sneak attack like ability for ninja that maybe has a chance for instant kill or paralyze effect, instant kill % would very on the rating of monster. Worthless 50% Easy 25% Decent 15% Tough 10% VT 5% IT 1% Impossible 0%

Ninjutsu that runs on MP and tools not tools alone, I find too often that I'll need some ninja tools and I can't find them in any AH, its really depressing...like maybe after a certain level you're good enough of a ninja to cast ninjutsu using MP instead of tools or something.

Maybe a few stealthy abilities or traits, something...more ninja-like. Something so that ninjas don't HAVE to be tanks but still can be Damage dealers or support too maybe.

A new katana skin would be neat one that ninjas would hold/use more like a "sword" class than a "katana" class, you know like a ninja sword that they wore on their back, not really any more powerful or anything, just another type of "katana" weapon instead of Kunai and tanto looking weapons.

Something that lets you change the color of armor, I can't tell you how boring it is in the dunes with everyone wearing the same brown lizard armor... liven things up a bit, if you were to AH the item it would revert to normal color.

New skins, skin color, hair colors, hair styles, body sizes for all the races. I mean really there isn't much varity for character creation in this game. Male Mithra would be kinda neat too. Even though according to the game they are wusses and never venture out, I still thought it would be neat.
Maybe someother new race?

Some new summon avatars, I mean why have only 1 summon for each element, I mean you could have a Phoenix that is fire elemental but could "raise" people and such.

Some sort of way to solo somewhat for all jobs, I can't tell you how annoying it is to only have say an hour to play and you log on and for 30 minutes or longer you have to wait for a group! There have been times where I've only gotten an invite while logging out after waiting an hour and I had to go to work! Partying is good, but somesort of alternative needs to be available, so that people who don't have hardcore time can play at their own pace.

And people don't just post here, SE wants to hear your ideas, I know everything can't and won't be implemented, but maybe if some of you share the same opinions and tell SE maybe if enough people voice these opinions things will be implemented. Peace and love people, don't hate, there is enough frustration and problems for us all on Earth, let's make Vana'diel an escape from all that crap!

those are horrible ideas...

1.) Blue Mage i can understand, but it would be too GOOD of a job, EVERYONE would use it...

2.) Ninja are fine, being able to cast ninjutsu without mp? horrible.. EVERYONE would play ninja, it would no longer be a rare, good, expensive job but an all-to-common, good, cheap job, making it very unbalanced. a Sneak Attack for ninja? pfft! Why would we ever invite those awesome DDing THFS!

3.) a ninja doesnt HAVE to be a tank, you dont HAVE to have certain things, you CAN be a DD...

4.) sword katanas? bad idea...

I think I've been misunderstood... I hope I can clear some things up. First off thank you all for your replies and insights, I very much appreciate criticism, when its tactfully remarked.

1. Blue Mage
I don't exactly see why this would be a bad job or "too powerful" not EVERY monster ability would be learnable. Obviously not insanely powerful ones either, probably not even ones in the game right now. I just loved this job in other games and thought it would be a welcome change for people bored with the other types of magics. I mean you'd only have access to spells by monsters you could survive the special attack/spell of therefore limiting what certain level Blue Mages could do and learn.

2. My remarks on ninja come mostly from my dissapointment in its lack or Job traits and abilities... I just feel that the class is good but missing what makes a ninja a "ninja".

About the "sneak attack-like" thing, it wouldn't be the same as sneak attack probably have a lot more delay time. Also as for the "instant kill" thing. Most previous Final Fantasy Games have an instant kill spell and or attacks. Now obviously these would only work based on your level. If you are fighting say an IT damselfly in the dunes, and you use this technique, you ARE NOT going to get an instant kill, like maybe 1 in 200 at best. You'd only be using this technique on the enemy for the extra damage hit. But say after that your group couldn't find a decent mob but wanted to keep a chain going and just attacked a tough Snipper. Well if the ninja used the technique, since its only rated tough, the chance for the kill would be higher, but still no where near "guaranteed". I am in no way soliciting a "guaranteed instant death ANYTHING". That WOULD be extremely cheap and ruin balance.

Quote:
Sneak Attack for ninja? pfft! Why would we ever invite those awesome DDing THFS!

You say why would we ever invite the awesome THFs, well for the same reason we still invite WARs instead of only PLD or NIN...because they aren't around, not available, because they can work just as well or nearly as well. From your logic you're already indicating that there is no reason to invite WARs since PLD is a better tank, and NIN with Utsusemi even better yet! But you see we can't always find a NIN or a PLD, so a WAR has to do the job. I love THF for the record, I've no desire to bash/flame/downplay thief. Thief and Ranger have the advantage of being in the game first, therefore the programmers probably already thought of these ideas for ninja and said..."um... we already gave all them things to Thief and Ranger...oh well we'll just give them Dual wield and some 2hr. technique and call it a day."

As for the ninjutsu thing, I really don't know, some jutsu regents are easily obtained such as Shihei, you can buy them from shops in Jeuno, I guess I was thinking of the ninjutsu that was more like "magic" than some of the others. Probably Katon and elemental jutsus. I just think its dissapointing that Mages simply have to buy a spell and they can use it as much as they want, but a ninja is at the mercy of his/her crafting skill, AH, and wallet to use the tricks of their trade. Perhaps if tools were more readily available I wouldn't feel this way. I guess I just feel that programmers gave ninja the short end of the stick compared to other jobs, and when I hear that some job that already has a lot of traits or abilities is getting another one and ninja is not it sort of makes me sad.

I'm really sorry if I've offended anyone with my feelings on these matters, I just wanted to clearly express why I feel the way about these issues so you don't think I'm just some moron or think I can't back up my reasoning behind things. Really I'm just interested in this game continuing to become better so that people don't leave for other games because of a lack of new things in this one. And I really want to see those who would take advantage of other people and try to monopolize certain aspects of this game brought to justice and made an example of. Again, thank you for your opinions and I wish you all well and bear no one ill will no matter what be said, have fun, be safe, and God bless you all (if that last part doesn't appeal to you, I'm sorry).

this would be fun in my opinion, but the implementation could be tricky... i mean, how would a mithra cast "Sprout Smack"? O_o my take would be some sort of smn-like job that temp-summons a mob of the appropriate type which does the special move, then goes away... would not require any new animations/mobs to be added to game code, so should be relatively simple to do ^^ still wouldn't be able to steal me away from barding tho XD

Quote:
Some new summon avatars, I mean why have only 1 summon for each element, I mean you could have a Phoenix that is fire elemental but could "raise" people and such.

this would be nice ^^ maybe some of the traditional summons like Phoenix, Alexander, and Bahamut could be added in ^_^ i wanna beat up mobs with my pet giant robot <_<

as far as all the extra customization options you want... probably not going to happen due to the nature of this being a multi-platform game (PC & PS2) and the limitations in the graphical capabilities of the PS2 ^^;; (im a PS2-er myself, and apologize for holding back the options of PC-ers) and the hard drive storage requirements for skins >_< graphics files can get verry big

"How about a Sneak attack like ability for ninja that maybe has a chance for instant kill"

Are you INSANE?!?

Sorry, I try to avoid being confrontational, but there is no way that anything like that would ever be implemented. Nor should it, there would be nothing but Ninjas running around.

"maybe after a certain level you're good enough of a ninja to cast ninjutsu using MP instead of tools"

Lookie here!

"Maybe a few stealthy abilities or traits, something...more ninja-like. Something so that ninjas don't HAVE to be tanks but still can be Damage dealers or support too maybe. "

I am with you on this. Ninjas, you know in all there stealth glory, HAVE NO "SNEAK" SKILL! So we can move around without being seen, but what does it matter when we can be heard?

As for the rest, it seems to be all character customization stuff. I agree with you, I would love to be able to change my appearance. Sadly, this seems like it would be difficult to implement. I wouldn't hold my breath.

About the translating function... Since i play both english and japanese version... some words you should avoid using:
[Help me out!]: On the japanese version this comes out as "Save my life!"
[Reward]: On the japanese version this comes out as "Feed your pet!"
So.... if you said-
[Help me out!] [Teleport-Holla] [Reward] 500g!
You just said, "Save my life, Teleport-holla, feed your pet 500g!" therefore making you seem like... a dumbass.(*'-')b
Gilsellers?!?!?!

I dont understand why people dont like gilsellers, but I can totally understand you know fishing and NM bots being disliked. Why does it matter if someone spends a little more to get something they want. It happens in real life, why not in the digital world?

Um... I just want to know if you truly understand the term "Gil-seller". A person hunting NMs to sell them and use the gil for some other piece of eqiupment isn't something bad at all in my book. I do it all the time... a little too much, in all honesty, but I'm trying to cut down >< Anyway, I digress, what I mean is, most people have little against this. These people are generally referred to as "NM hunters" or I've even heard "gil hunters", although i personally feel that can be a little missleading.

"Gil-sellers" on the other hand are usually an to me unknown number of people, working in shifts, controlling the same character, farming/hunting the same mob/s all the time. And I mean aaaaaaaall the time... They work for a company and their sole task is to make as much gil as possible. The company then sells this gil online for IRL money i.e. real $$$, to other players. To maximize their profit the try to monopolize a certain type of equipment, making them the only seller of it. Since it's always somethng very good that many people need and want and seeing as they are the only ones selling them... they can set their own prices. In the last months Archers Ring went from 400k up to 600-700k. This was a delibirate move as they will get more gil from every drop which means more gil for the company to sell which in turn means more cash in their IRL wallets. They will not stop raising the price on this until the rings will stop selling or until S.E. interferes in some way.

What this leads to is that an average player, who can't or doesn't want to, pay real money for gil to use in game, has little or no chance or retrieving it the way it was meant, by hunting it. And since they are monopolizing it there will be competition. This allows gil-sellers to set their own prices as explained above. Items that many ppl are prone to sell tend to sway a little but stays most time within a certain range. Someone who needs gil fast might lower the price a little thus making it sell faster. Because of this these prices rarely shift more than 50%. Excluding new items whos true value have yet to be determined, that is.

I'm sorry if this got slighlty lengthy, but if you read this reply I hope you realize why people hate Gil-sellers so much. ^^

more gil-selling sites
# Dec 05 2004 at 5:16 PM Rating: Default
just so you all know, cannotlinkto isnt the only gil-selling site. theres cannotlinkto and affiliates.team-vip.com (pretty much same thing as IGE, they sell MMO items/money) i personnally think that SE is going to have a tough time booting everyone that buys/sells gil. does SE know about all the sites that sell gil? if they did, then that would help.

Well... I'm quite excited about the new THF trait... and dear goodness, I sooooo wish that they'll successfully put a HUGE DENT in the gilseller trade.

My guess as to how they're going to do this: Track down all the gillseller websites OUTSIDE the game, and terminate all mentioned accounts. :3 If Gilsellers loose their account, it'll take 'em a while to build their accounts back up for NM hunting again... MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

However, I wish they'd add more *useful* autotranslate terms. Like the names of quests... for example, the Genkai quests. Because shouting (limit) (break) (help me out!) makes no sense to Japanese players, I've learned, (It sounds more like 'help me limit my rest' or something like that nonsense...)

It will be curious how they address the whole Gil Sellers and the monopoly of NMs. First off, just because a person camps at a certain place all the time and catches the NM is a gilseller... remember that making gil is numereo uno and if someone is just that damn good could be accused of something he's not. As for people buying and selling gil, that's kind a tough to catch (unless your a dumbass shouting buying or selling gil at H-4). Not too mention that if they start banning users, they would automatically loose there $13 a month revenue because that person will most likely quit go to another game like WoW. This will be interesting.
gil buyers / sellers
# Dec 05 2004 at 7:01 AM Rating: Decent
The only problem is that there is no real way to tell if someone bought gil. They cant just go deleting acounts cause someone got sent a bunch of gil, that doesnt necessarily mean they bought it. I myself am curious as to how they will handle this and the gil farmer camping, monopoly , etc.

Perhaps they could track IGE's sales records, and then see when the gil is sent?

I'll be happy if they can stop the NM campers. I'm still lower lvl, but I don't think it's fair to just "hog" up the fun. Gilsellers, I must not have read the whole agreement thing, but I was unaware they were such a bad thing...but judging by the current AH prices I can see why. Throw me a Line if Ur ever in Caitsith...Im Always Around

Watch it be some half-a** way to deal with the monopolys, like when they said they were gonna kill fishing bots? lol. only thing they did was make it so you got rusty items if you were in the same zone for so many hours at once, which got rusty caps and made them even richer for a while.

This updated is a joke, I would like it to be true, but its kinda sad when I have to send 4 GM calls before I get a reply to the stroper campers in which he tells me he'll "investigate it" yeah.. good job.
RE: haha
# Dec 08 2004 at 1:39 PM Rating: Decent
yea investigate lol... thats all they ever tell me. seems like the only thing they are investigating is how to open the capri sun without squirting it all over the place. stupid wanna be juice box why would they make it so difficult ne way?
Ugh

I hope so. I personally mine to make some gil and I hate seing the same people over and over again ... day and night ... with strange names and don't speak english or ever talk that is. I hate gilsellers.

Just cuz they don't speak english or spend loads of time mining doesn't make them gil sellers. I know I have personally spent weeks mining to get some of my equipment. Mining really isn't too lucrative for a gilfarmer/seller since you'd have to run back and forth on a constant basis when ur inventory clears making botting uneconomical.
You can...

Well, if you are in a party with someone you want to PK, all you would really have to do is {Sneak Attack}{Trick Attack}{Hide} and then blow off the attack on them. Instant hate. I've never done this on purpose, but there have been times where I've been trying to set myself up for SATA and the Bard ran in front of me and I nailed it on him. That never did end well...-_-;
