New Content Patch Goes LiveMar 22nd, 2005 at 5:46 AM by Allakhazam

The bad news is today's downtime will be a little longer than usual -- until 11:00 am PST. The good news is that the new content patch, with all its new goodies, will be added today, and is available for download right now. If you are wondering what is being added and missed the prior post on it, here's a link to the patch notes. Grab a cup of coffee before following the link, as it's a long read. I would also note that in another post, Blizzard promised that future patches would be smaller and come faster.

Wouldn't it be nice if blizzard would fix its forum servers? Half the time you can't login because "Login Server Down" and half the time you CAN log in, you get error messages all over the place... and it can't handle load at all, I have had to refresh most of the pages multiple times just to get them to load, and forget about trying to post....

And thanks, that's good info to know about the patch... I have a friend who plays and is on dialup, I can just burn the patches to CD for her. :-)

You just have to log on your account, the patch server is already up.

So your game will be ready for when the world servers go back up.

Yep...that was a long read. One thing however? You mention that the patch is available for download now but not where to find it. Adding a link to it would be very helpful.

I think he is referring to the fact that last time (Christmas Patch) Allakhazam hosted the patch for its premium users so you didn't have to wait ages to download it through Bittorent. It's just an EXE file that downloads to your WoW directory so usually one of us in my guild (usually me) gets the patch and mirrors it on our guild website for our members so they don't have to wait either and can play as soon as they get home from work.
