And well. . . . some people are/or were very stupid toward the panel from japan: vis live feed. I wanted to ask about any mini-events/games I guess. People were very uptight, the only person that had any REAL humor was that dude that was yellin'. Heh, and the announcer was a d-ck. heh, and I think the battle bash was rigged . . . and BTW the time bomb dies in 6 hits, TP attack.

this event was so much fun. although, it kinda wasn't what i expected. i expected at least 1/4 of the parking lot blocked off for the event. instead, we get the dinky ghetto alley between the two buildings. but then again, what's big on the mainland, then brought down here to hawaii, is kinda downgraded and made smaller. but i'm not complaining, cuz it was fun. sadly, i didn't come early enough to take part in the boss battles, and i couldnt run in the marathon, but it was really fun to watch. i think i was busy getting my pictures taken with those cute mithras. speaking of which, anyone know who they are? they really intrigued me...

btw, grats on the computer, man!

They are just from some modeling agency I believe. One of POLs pictures has what modeling agency they are from, I believe.

Well, this sucks. I won the new computer, and I can't use the new nVidia card! It only has plugins for the flatscreen monitors, and I don't have one! >< Gonna have to see what CompUSA has, if there are any adapters to convert over. Its still an awesome computer though!
Pentium 4 3.4ghz
1gig DDR RAM
160gig HDD

Can't beat that for free. ^^

Edit- I got the vid card issue worked out, and OMG it looks great!

Just came back, and had a great time. I was lucky enough to participate in the Tarutaru run. Was Contestant #1 ^^ Sadly i didnt finish within an hr :( (only 8/40 did)

It was great fun. Thanks go to S-E for actually coming out to Hawaii. I'd say around 500 people went through there throughout the day. Definitely more than the place was intended for. And I have pictures of Pikko to blackmail her with. Smiley: grin

I would love to find out more about SMNs... If they plan to add new Avatars. If any stats like INT MND CHR helps at all with SMNs. Also what all does SMN magic skill do? Once before SE said it did nothing other than lower cast time for elements and lowers chance of loss of spell while getting hit. Plus on the AF gear where it says like:

Avatar: Enmite -2

Or something like that. Does it mean the SMN or the Avatar has the -2?

Another question I have for THF. Does INT help lock picking in anyway?

Plus how does CHR help with hate management at all?

Any plans on coming out for more gear/food for SMNs to help their Avatars?

Also do they plan to bring out FFXI on another console system or maybe the new PS2?

Do they plan on working with any Game Guide company on makeing a GOOD guide or should we never have hope?

Sorry for random thoughs, Just woke up and have to get running. lol

I actually asked the japanese guys about adding more avatars, and he said they "might" be adding new avatars to the games. Seeing how everything is a hush hush, this might be true, or not. /fumes. I also ask about changing server and keeping your stats, items, level to another server of choosing. He said they might do that, for like $200 bucks per charactor, with a smile on his face, so i hope he was kidding about the 200dollars. Also if there is a large demand for it, it might be consider.

wouldn't hold yer breath on any of these counts Xbox is the only other viable console since it has a HD and online support built in but I would imagine theres some contractual type things that would be in the way of a port. Also from what I've read since the new slim PS2 came out Sony isn't planning on making an HD peripheral for it, so if people wanna play the console version of XI they gotta settle for the clunky old ps2

I believe SE has answered some of these questions before...

Avatar: Enmity -2 means the Avatar gets the Enmity -2.

DEX is important for lock-picking.

CHR is not involved with enmity (according to SE, though it's still debated).

They are releasing a new(hopefully good) guide soon.
