iGames Tour Reportaru

The day of the special eventaru had finally arrived! The sun was out in full force and Pikko set off in the morning to pick Haggan up at his Rent-A-Roomie. He mentioned he had seen some of the M.H.M.U. at breakfast and that we should be at the event at noon. Unfortunataruly, this meant we didn'taru have much time to meet with Allakhazam members for lunch! But in the short time we were there, we did get to meet a lot of people. We arrived at the event area and talked to the M.H.M.U. representatives there to gather up information. Many-wany people were helping to set up the event and boy was it hot outside!! It was only 12:00 and Haggan and Pikko had to use a differentaru chocobo stable because this one was already-weady full! Crowds began to gather; people showed up as early as 12:30 PM! The indoor arena was a much cooler place, so we stayed in there sometimes to escape the sun. Soon it was time for the event to begin! People were allowed to start the Boss Battle Bash quest by talking to the people at the BBB registration desk. Pikko was a part of Team Garuda! The Boss Battle Bash quest began rightaru way and Team Garuda was the first to take on the ??? quest, which ended up being Tenzen. What can Pikko say about this battle except that it was a completaru disaster!! While Tenzen was busy-wusy handing us our buttarus, there were some meanie Tarutaru casting -ga III spells on us all!! We died horribly and didn'taru even get him down to 80%. T_T The prize was a biggie one, so the quest is understandably very-wery hard. Team Garuda did try again later and did much better this time around! We got him down to around 40%! Although we didn'taru win, Team Garuda was still happy with our good effort. Other-wother teams tried differentaru battles such as Ouryu, Cerebrator, Time Bomb, and Dark Dragon. One team, We Don't Care, was able to survive the Time Bomb battle with a Reraise! The crowd went wild when the little Tarutaru white mage was revived!! A team who fought the Dark Dragon won as well! Overall, the event was a greataru success, with 466 people showing up to mingle with one another and meet the members of the M.H.M.U. who worked so hard for everybody-wody to have fun. There were several photo sessions where you could take a photo with Mithras, but Pikko didn'taru understand what all the fussy-wuss was about because Pikko sees plenty of kitties running around Windurst all the time! Special RSE gear was available for purchase for certain races and for all three nations plus Jeuno. Food and beverage tickets were given at the registration desk for people to redeem at the Inn next to the arena. We were given a bit of Windurstian Salad and a meat dish. Pikko isn'taru sure what this dish was. Perhaps fish and chips? If it was, Pikko made sure not to add any sauce, just in case it was Tarutaru sauce! And then it was time for the Question and Answer panel! Haggan and Pikko took the stage and sat down nextaru two M.H.M.U. representatives. We were given special linkpearls so that we could communicate with M.H.M.U. Headquarters in the Far East! This was very-wery excitaruing. The session was a little-wittle difficultaru for some as the bigwigs at M.H.M.U. speak a differentaru language. But with the help of our translators, we were able to understand things. It was an honor to speak with them and Pikko and Haggan were very-wery happy to be presentarued with such a great opportunity. Throughout the day, the M.H.M.U. announcer gave out Tarutaru Cure Marathon participation tickets as prizes for correctaruly answering trivia questions. But Pikko has to question the validity of this contestaru because several questions were suspiciously similar such as, "Who do you speak to in order to advance past level 50?" and "Who do you speak to in order to advance past level 65?" and "Who do you speak to in order to advance past level 55." (Hmm...) ^_^ Other prizes were given out for trivia questions and Haggan got one question correctaru for the Tarutaru RSE! He was very-wery nice and gave it to Pikko!! 40 winners were able to participataru in the Cure Marathon. Pikko saw all of the little-wittle level 1 Tarutaru White Mages lined up and ready and became very-wery excitarued for them! An event especially made for the Tarutarus! The goal was to run around and get to the Galka Marathon Coordinator and purchase a Cure scroll from his bazaar. They were then to run to another Galka Coordinator and heal him once. The race began and Pikko cheered them on! Pikko's excitarument soon turned to complete and utter horror! Monsters began to attack the runners and to make things worse, everyone was cheering!! Pikko's heart sank as she watched all her little-wittle brothers and sistarus get eaten by the vicious vultures, terrible rams, ugly-wugly bugards, and stinky giants! On the other-wother hand, Pikko is certain that Haggan got much enjoyment out of this because he was wearing a name badge that stated, "I EAT TARU". The Tarutaru were soon given a laugh of their own as one of the Galka reportarus was attacked by a Tavnazian Ram. He fell to the ground dead and lost his level 75!! The crowd burst out with a roar of laughtaru. (Pikko snickered as this Galka was also from Bastok.) Showing courage and spirit that would have made even the Star Sibyl beam with pride, four runners made it to the end victorious!!! If you can, please give a momentaru of silence for the other less fortunataru runners who did not make it. T_T Next came the costume contestaru! Pikko stood on tippy-toes (there were lots of Hume and Elvaan and of course they all stand in the front!) to see the costumes but was surprised to see only one person of the six wearing a Pumpkin hat as part of her costume. The others were wearing regular battle clothes! One came dressed in Samurai Artifact gear (someone must have stolen his Kabuto), another in Thief Artifact (this was the one with the pumpkin hat), one with the Duelist's Chapeau and Wool clothing, and three others wore their national Aketons. If Pikko had known this would be such an easy contest to enter she would have brought her Wooden Katana, Yukata, Santa Hat, and Goldfish Bowl!! Each contestantaru was asked to do a pose. Pikko could only see the Tarutaru dance and the Red Mage do an (Away) (bazaar) pose. The Samurai won first prize, even though the crowd began to chant "Red Mage!". Next, the lady in the Pumpkin Hat won second place. Still the crowd chanted, "Red Mage!!". When the Red Mage finally won third place, the crowd cheered! The Pimp Hat, as many so fondly call it, was definitaruly a crowd pleaser! Last of all came the raffle give-away. The M.H.M.U. accouncer called out numbers and if your ticketaru numbers matched, you won the prize! Many-wany people had already-weady left and so the announcer would rip up that ticketaru and choose another. Soon the crowd began to get antsy and if their number was not called, began to shout, "RIP! RIP! RIP!". A Star Onion Brigade member won one of the bestaru prizes!!! GO S.O.B.S!!! The grand prize was given out and at last, the event was over. As the M.H.M.U. team broke down the event area, participants were given consolation prizes including pretty-wetty posters to hang in your Mog House and mouse pads. Pikko thought this was a silly-willy prize because if your Mog House has mice in it you certainly aren'taru going to want to make them feel more at home by giving them their own bed!! Before leaving, Pikko and Haggan were able to be in a nice group photo with the whole M.H.M.U. team! We thanked them again for invitaruing us. There were no Black Mages left for Warp II so we wearily walked back to the chocobo stables. Let me tell you, it was a super-duper fun event, but Pikko's Noble Bed never felt so good!! I have a question about the boss battle? Forgive me if it was answered above, but did you get to use your own char/gear or did they make you use a preset combination?

You were only allowed to choose jobs and race and you could not use double jobs and the only race you could use twice was Hume. Sub-jobs were picked for you and you were not given any food, you did not get to pick your gear, and some spells were missing. Some say this was too unfair, but when you look at the enormity of the prize, you get a different outlook on it. -_^

Pikko et al

Since many of us cannot go to these things is there anyway some of the topics could be covered?

I assume many game aspects are talked about, hints, possible SE related info. I don't think any of us can just hop off to Hawaii even though we would all love to. Is there anyway at this or other FFXI events we could capture some of the things that are talked about? I would love to know what some of the questions and answers were with SE.

My team, "Hawaii 5-0" try to take on Tenzen also, I think we took him down like to like 90%. I was in one of those picture. the one with this line was long. I was only of the first people there, next to team garuda, but i went to lunch came back and i was next to the guy with the flame shirt, near the black car. of course i was hidden in that photo cause i was sitting by the wall.

Pikko i cant wait to see my picture with the three mitra. Is there going to be more pictures up little? And thanks for the autograph, my friend on the mainland is jealous that i got to meet you and haggan. i got that autograph poster on my bedroom wall framed already. lol

what happened with team "Hawaii 5-0"? on the big screen, it looked as though the tank nuked himself. my good budy from team "Garuda" was the first and last ones to fight tenzen. on the last battle though, he, the tank, got silenced so he was unable to put utsus up. he said they got it down to 40%. and he was able to dodge 2 of the 3 2h.

Bunnies kill! Beware of Jaggedy Eared Jack! Hehehehe
And congrats to both Xaiyara for her clock, and to the guy who won the PC (can't remember his name).

Wow! I see my picture in there lol (I'm the THF in AF armor). I freaked out when the announcer told us contestants to make a emote up on stage. What I should have done was "flee!" but anyhoo, the event was bunches of fun.

I'm really happy with my clock though! And I got a Tarutaru tshirt as well! It was great meeting all of you. And Congratulations to those other 5 contestants who dressed up as well.

Next contest I'll do the Opaline Set ... lol ....

<<< [Away] [Bazaar] [Red Mage] [Impossible to Gague!]

Yeah, this event was awesome. The BBB had a few problems near the begining, but it all got sorted out. I ended up fighting Ouryu, but because of lack of planning and communication, we ended up wiping. But it was fun, neh?

The Taru marathon was fun, I managed to get in with my standby ticket. It was scary at the begining because right at the begining, a party of Formors Spawned, so we were all standing in line while these Formors wandered around (aggro was turned off at that point). But we all got started and the taru's broke into different groups, but once the aggro started comming, yeah... I managed to be one of the last ones to finish, I got a copy of CoP for my trouble, and everyone who participated got a "Dear Friends" handbook and FFXI Atlas (both of which are awesome).

The Costume contest... yeah, only 6 people in-costume, if you count my hat... What's sad is I actually planned on doing the [Away] [Bazaar] thing to explain the lack of armor (blue shirt and jeans supposed to be nekk'd male hume clothing), but seeing as how we had to do something on stage... "Afk..." But I'm happy the SAM and THF won, they actually put effort into their costume... but the first and second place prizes sure were nice... (especially that Vana'diel clock...)

Yeah, this event started out slow, but once it got going, it was totally awesome, I hope there's another one here again.

Yeah i was one of the first group to play, it took like 20 minutes for them to set up my team. Too bad we only lasted like 2 minutes. Most of the people on my team were ps2 players, so we weren't used to the computer control. <<gamepad>> <<do you have it?>> <<can i have it?>> <<reward>>

I should have gone but... well... didn't really feel like it. Lol. Kind of far, but not too bad for me. I'm all the way down at Kahala. 15-20 minute drive. No excuse really, oh well. Wish I had gone to buy a shirt or something though. I'd really like to know how the Q&A went though. Like if the developers gave actual answers, or if they just gave general answers that are really just hints.
