Announcing the Lord of the Rings Online Allakhazam Databases
When LOTRO Allakhazam was launched a few months ago, we promised editorials, game guides, geography highlights, creative content, game relevant discussion on our forums and databases. While the former items have already been accounted for, the latter has not. That has changed today. We are proud to announce that the first (of many) databases to grace the infrastructure of LOTRO Allakhazam. These include items, quests, geography, bestiary, deeds, traits, titles, objects, and recipes. At this time we would like to share with you the details of each database and what our plans are for the future.
Read on for a full, detailed description of what LOTRO Allakhazam has to offer.
Our items database includes virtually every item you can find in-game: weapons, armour, and more. This means you can pull up complex information on, say, a swords damage or speed or the beneficial effects of particular foods. Accordingly, you can view a wide variety of items based on slot, weapon and armour type. Lastly, if you already know the name of the item, you can search for it in our readily-available search field.
The quests databases have been extraordinarily done on other Allakhazam sites on our network, and it is no exception here at LOTRO Allakhazam. We have quest listings for many, many quests – both in low and high levels, and even in the monster play areas – that will help you determine the best rewards, relate where they can be found and even tell what types they are before you pursue them. As a result of this, you can search by type, location or if you know of the name of the quest, by that means.
When we considered the possibilities for a geography database, there were many routes we could have taken. Instead of simply using the pre-determined “zones” (Shire, Bree-land etc) we divided these regions into many small zones. This allows us to provide complex information to you in a very simplified manner. For instance, instead of listing all of the quests available in the Shire, we detail which quests are located in particular zones such as Michel Delving, Brockenborings, Greenfields, Hobbiton etc. The same applies for items and mobs. This allows you to view a myriad amount of information in a selected area.
Despite its name, the bestiary database is not exclusive to beasts or even killable opponents alone. It expands to include everything that is a sentient, non-player character. This includes quest, vendor, crafting and service NPCs. Given all of that, it is our most complex database. For it allows you to search by NPC type, location, vendor type and so much more. In addition, in the case of killable opponents – mobs - we provide explicit directions to them and display level, morale, power and the like.
Our accomplishments database is divided into three categories: deeds, traits and titles. All three of these components constitute the much-talked about accomplishment system. In short, deeds are the tasks themselves that must be done and traits and titles are the rewards for completion. Much like our previous databases, each includes a fully-functional search field to narrow your endeavours. In addition, we are developing more advanced search methods that will allow you to categorize your efforts by location, type and many other means!
Our objects database includes every non-sentient, interactable world item in the game. These include milestones, mailboxes, quests objectives and more! Besides the ever handy search function available in all our databases, we allow you to search by type and location. Further, each object listed in our database includes detailed information on the item in question – be it location, description or usability.
Our recipe databases includes a wide breadth of information regarding every single crafting recipe in the game. You can search by the always handy search field or categorize them by profession. The information displayed includes, but is not limited to, components and tools necessary, the item produced, skill required, crafting experienced gained and a plethora of other useful data!
These opening seven databases are the starting point for our efforts here at LOTRO Allakhazam. Also, within these starting seven, we will be expanding them, and updating each on a daily basis. In the future, however, we plan to open databases that include, but are not limited to, skills, dynamic maps and others besides. In addition, if you happen to be a premium member on our network, you will be able to utilize advanced searches that are currently in development. Lastly, even if you do not have a premium subscription, you can still leave your comments on any of our database entries.
That is our current and future features to the LOTRO Allakhazam databases; and even this early it is the largest LOTRO database in the world! We have molded them off our previous databases that yielded great success and made us the mos successful MMORPG fan site network in the world.
