Gems seem to drop much more commonly off the geonids in Wakening Lands than the wyverns. These drops are from "uncommon" spawns either shimmering geonids in Wakening Lands or Burrowing Wyverns in WW. They do drop from the "normal" Wyvern of Geonid mobs.
