	My Ranger doesn't get a success/fail message when he tries to hide even after having trained in the skill. I'm pretty sure that only rogues get the success/fail message.

	Post 50 if you want to solo, try the specs in Oasis, or even soloing in Lguk. Plane of Justice is a great zone to group in for exp post 50 also. I can even Solo the rats there when I was 51.

	Your stats are fine and even if you had royally screwed up as most of us do on our first characters, you can always make up for it with equipment later. Just start practicing other skills now. Buy yourself a 2hs and practice with it when you're in groups and not the MA. A good cheap sword to buy
