FOUND! All the components for our part of this quest:
Ashes from a Dark Ritual - Drop from Grimling Mystics on the moors. These seem to be fairly rare, I've killed about 15 mystics and only got one of these. They also drop Black Salt something, fingerbones, and lots of runes.
