Because the effect of jolt is listed as "Lowers you on the target's hate list by -500", this must also lower you on the hate list (meaning that the target is less likely to agro on you.) I think that the reason this is so confusing is that it seems that if you are "lowered" on a |

seems many of you really have not been on an actual raid of a big big mob. many times spells will not work unless in melee range, meaning you might as well swing it while your there between casts, as a caster you should have very little worries considering your main tank has sufficient agg |

Lowering by -100 would be the same as -(-100) which would add 100 hate to you |

From what i've read other places, it seems as though "lowering" your hate by a postitve amount, has the effect of lowering you closer to #1 on the mobs hate list, because technically 1 is lower than 5, although we tend to think of 1 as being the top of the list. lowering by a negative amou |

Actually, from what I understood, *any* player that is near a mob being attacked by a pet or pets will get the aggro. I personally have not seen a mob attack a pet when there is a player's character in melee range of that mob. |

Grammatically that would be true, but we are dealing with programmers who've never gone to school.
Example;,
Ranger Spell JOLT is meant to reduce aggro.
----
JOLT
Lowers you on Target's hate list by -500.
----
Warrior's Epic Sword Proc is meant to increase aggro and make the mob focus o |

The Stats are nice If you don't have an Epic.
The Effect which lowers your agro by 200 is of no use to a Wizard.
Ice comet, 1020 - 200 = 820
Sunstrike 1615 - 200 = 1415
Hsgara's Wrath 2000 - 200 = 1800
820 is STILL alot of agro. Consider that it's a Proc and not "clickery" any w |

Actually wizards dont really need this effect at all because we have concussion which is the same as the rangers jolt spell (lowers by 400 though I think). It is a level 39 spell (although the quest to get it is a bit hard at that level), has a 2sec cast time and costs a measly 25 mana. What more do |

What your saying makes sense as to why verant considers lowering hate by a positive amount makes the mob angrier towards you and lowering hate by a negative amount makes a mob less angry towards you.
By comparing the message effect of this spell to jolt, it becomes clear that they do the same thi |

Well, It does make sense from a programming point of view. An effect that lowers you on hate list, will drop you from a certain number on the hate list, to a lower one, say from spot 2 to spot 1, making the mob hate you the most, number 1 on the hate list. a little counter-intuivtive, but the end ef |

or perhaps the coders of the (non-verant) parser made a bad choice of words. Jolt adds -500 to hate. I.E. it drops you by 500 on the hate list. The parser says that warrior epic lowers you on the hate list by 500 or something. Proccing jolt? No, the message is messed up. |
