I bought these as level 9 Ranger for 100p, when I felt my Kodiak Claws just didn't kill fast enough when soloing. 22 damage per hit at that level. Excellent. I have acquired a Whip of Strangulation and plan to dual wield the weapons from level 17.

I think there is some sense to your calculations however when you reach the point where your damage bonus increases in size you will get to the point where hitting faster is the real way to increase your damage.

I guess maybe at Verant they figure we're all fools and will get hung up doing the same basic thing for 60 levels and not realize that all they are doing is not providing originality but a compulsion to level (which takes literally forever in the high levels). I'm not sure about the other zones like Hate and WK? (I heard the brood mother drops them too), but Old Seb bugs seem to drop them at a fairly common rate. We alpha looted them for several hours at the NG camp and everyone in the group got one after 3 or so hours.
