	You are indeed not a programmer. 256 different numbers (usually 0-255) require only 8 bits, because 2**8 (2 to the power of 8) = 256. Most computers store data in 8 or 32 bit chunks -which is probably why they might choose 255 as a max. Why they chose 252 instead of 255... I can only guess. Pos

	that mana is the first thing I noticed to, but I don't think there are to many, if any at all, magic required procing items.
