Man, people still play this? Thats good to see. I was going through some old boxes and found my EQOA:F disc and now I'm thinking about playing it again. Since I jumped on the WoW and EQ2 train and got a PS3, I haven't thought about EQOA. I'm coming back. Marrs Fist still open?

I'm not sure why anyone would go back to EQOA if they moved on to another
game. I guess if you like game with no content and sitting at a camp killing the same monster over and over then maybe it is good to go back it.

This is a place to encourage players to play, not give them negative feedback.
And yes, its still open, but all servers kinda dead. cept' CLW. up to you if you wanna go there.
I have to disagree with you there Halas. Yon need to see both the good and the bad to get a fair impression of the game. Though a person is pretty retarded if they create an account just to create a couple of hate posts.
Camping does get old, I much prefer having instance missions in CoX, where you don't have to search for an empty spot, or worry about trains. Though that doesn't make EQOA bad, it just follows the older style of game planning.

Derail? Trains have nothin to do with this.
Forums are a place of thoughts, not much substance in them, and a train of thought can easily be derailed.

Is SoE even still running the servers? I mean, is anything even still happening on EQ? Any updates, or expansion rumors, or anything at all? I played in for 3 1/2 years then broke my ps2 right as Zaoran Plateau came out and just never started back up. No word from SoE? Anything happening at all? I hope so, I'd still come back, it's oldschool as hell and I had alotta fun with it back then.

It really wasn't a hate post. It was my opinion and really not far off the mark.
Go to the EQOA boards and see. People crying for content and a few fanatics defending every move (really non move) made by the dev team. It's not my fault the game doesn't have any content so don't call me a ******.

quite a few of the servers are indeed hurting, you just have to be active and not be afraid to ask people help. One of the many skills lost in PL'n (beyond just learnign to use yer toon) is the age old ability "invite %4 to group". Alot fo people quit cuz they cant get groups. Alot of people couldnt get groups beacause they all stand together in FP shouting "LFG" and no one takes the initiative to send an invite. up till just a few months ago, I'd grab 3 ppl LFG, say "there, now just grab 1 more person reg'd" and then drop out of the group.
I'm having alot of fun in EQ, I took me a nice lil break and came back. I can't say too much for Marrs Fist. PPO seems to have enough to do most. But CLW is the best/most-populated server....and Hodstock is glad everyone thinks that.
I liked a good bit of the stuff they added, if you're one of the people that want a ZP with every update, you may be disappointed. But the game itself has only gotten better. Free rehabs have helped offset the reduced population. And the people who currently play now are gamers who are pretty dedicated to playing. It's pretty guild driven now

I am semi-retired. But I try and poke my head on once or twice a week to see how things are still going.

i played last summer and CLW was the only server that people played and it was quiet fun and active
