Classic everquest vet here and I have some questions.Follow

Im sure you figured out im looking for a new mmorpg, the main reason im considering ps2 is because I need to save money for a new mainstream computer and id rather have I have more important things I need to save up for. But im looking for an online game to play im seriously bored.

Anyways I loved the original everquest and I came across this now I know quite a bit about it but im very skeptical because I keep reading how dead this game is yet someone else saids there is alot of people on that one server cwl or something like that.

Also it seems soe has stopped supporting this game I may be wrong but I do not trust soe what so ever.

So what I want to know am I going to regret this? I dont want to spend 30 dollars and realize hey there is nothing else to do in this game because there is no added content and also realize I cant find groups for a variety of levels.

I am a group player I cant hardly stand solo mmorpgs very much sure once and a while I enjoy soloing but only once and a while. Anyways here are my main questions to help make this easier to read an for you to answer.

How is the population now days?

Do bards get to run as fast as classic everquest and help others run that fast?

Do bards have music effects or is it only graphics?

And is there still some kind of support for this game and is there added content every few months?

The main reason why im asking about the bard is because I have not found a game where I did not enjoy a class more, the jack of all trades master of none feeling really taking skill in twisting songs to help my group, and most of all being a master in exploration thats part of the reason why I like running fast.

Anyways thanks everyone for reading my post. And I will appreciate your answers,

Theres groups to be fond on the populated server at most levels, and even if you cant xp boosts make soloing go by faster

Yes and yes

Ok here is the jist of it all. As you have probably read it on these forums.

Population is ok not great but not totaly a ghost town either. It is still possible to group and if you very out going and chatty then you can getintoa good guild. (CoES or Vanguard) pretty active and not to much drama as some other guilds.

As for SoE in game help it could be better. But it is there. They love to always reply to a help ticket with "I am unable to help you with that check with other players in game" But if it is an issue that needs there attention they address it.(Accident deletion of item/player)

As for Bards they are still a jack of all trades on here. They have a decent heal tick. SoW is a plus. They can handle a crit from a mob and they deal a fair amount of damage plus give mana.

As for content updates we are seriously over due but there is one to be done this week. But we are supposed to get one every 3-4 months. Just usually is not a big as everyone hopes for.

Most of the gripes you see on hear are from people who have played from Day 1
If you are new to EQOA I think you will likeit alot. The rest of us have lost the Thrill of exploration. So it has gotten routine. Being new you wont have that.

The game is still here after all these years for a reason. So IMO I would get the game. But hey it is up to you but I know I have blown 30 bucks on alot worse crap.

Hit me up in game if you do join the rest of us.

I agree with that on spending 30 bucks on worst. Don't be like me and spend 70 dollars on expansions and then relize I don't want this and want to play eqoa. I learned my lesson and can't wait till I join the eqoa on clw.

I say go for it!

Best place to start @ would be freeport but if u dont wana make a human n rather make somethin suppa far away from the most populated city- get a zone map, u may need it
Best one is on
Hodstock.com
U can also figure out ur cms there too

Soloing is awesome with boon
But grouping is the way to go and eqoa is mainly a grouping game n grinding for xp
But boon makes it all the sweeter!

N yes... There are plenty of worse things u can buy with 30 bucks like: scene it? Music edition... Im too young to know those questions n bands! Or a ring from some dude off the street that swore it was silver but it really wasnt n u broke out in a rash cuz of it.
The endless pain worth $30
Which would u preffer
A kool mmorpg game, or a fake cruddy ring?

The rash is much like the eqoa experience most of yous will face. You get sweaty, you scratch a lot. and you get red splotches... xD group with a tank that doesn't know taunt... D=

God, I feel sorry for you new guys. You missed out on so much =(

I agree with Halas on that one... If ur a noob now... U totally missed out :/
Missed out Terribly!
Ha
Idk
Eqoa was the shizzle in its golden days

I still think it would be fun to come back n play even for a veteran :)

Atleast we lvl faster n u can make any damage char n see how it feels without the grouling months of grinding...

I still say go for it!
:D

Pfft Damage character for me will ALWAYS be a Rogue. I had fun with the wizards. Just not for me.

Rogue born Rogue raised only way out is a Rogue death..... Which, Ironically is by the hands of another Rogue xD

I've never been able to play a rogue past 26, I suppose I like a steady flow of damage better then bursts.
