New Destiny Gameplay Trailer Released

Earlier today, Bungie released an extensve gameplay trailer for Destiny featuring a Strike--a cooperative scenario for a dangerous mission in The Devil's Lair. Check out the action below!

Destiny: Going Co-op

Destiny is part of a new breed of online game. Falling somewhere between a single-player RPG and a full-fledged MMO, Bungie’s latest game aims to provide a rich, evolving world where players can seamlessly group up and adventure.

When I spoke to community manager Eric Osborne as part of a round-table discussion, he felt that it was natural for the studio to be heading this way. “If you go back even before Halo, Jason Jones our founder and creative director, was shipping experiences like Minotaur: Labyrinths of Crete – these were all connected experiences before it was very well known. You had to ship a little instruction card for people on how to use your modem.”

E3 2013: Destiny Demo

Though we have seen some of the gameplay footage from E3 this week in the new trailer video, it was still rather exciting to funnel into the packed demo room to watch a few devs take out Destiny for a spin.

At the start of the demo, the dev turned around and looked out across an absolutely huge valley and said "That isn't a skybox."

Destiny: New Gameplay Footage from E3

Destiny is the upcoming shooter from Bungie, the original studio behind Halo. Last night during the Sony press conference, players were witness to the first look at some of Destiny's gameplay. Bungie today released a new gameplay trailer highlighting some of what was shown during the press conference reveal as well as a few new looks of the enemies, environments and the story of the game.

Is it an MMO? Is it a glorified Co-op? When it looks this good do you really care?

The latest cinematic from Destiny features a bedside tale that I'm pretty sure would leave most kids a) confused and b) having nightmares about wolves.

Exclusive Q&A: Kekai Kotaki

If you're into video game art, then it's likely the subject of our Q&A is already well-know to you. Indeed, Kekai Kotaki has spent most of his professional career making sure the games we love to play look as amazing as they possibly can.

Kotaki began at ArenaNet, seeing to it that amazing visuals became a part of the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 legacy. He departed ArenaNet just before the release of Guild Wars 2, which raised an eyebrow or two. But as he explains, it was all just a part of following his dream. After leaving the only game studio he had ever known, he spent some time with a little company called Bungie working on a game called, let's see...  Destiny, I think it was. Even though he's no longer with Bungie, with any luck, we just may see some of his artwork represented in the game.

His style is unmistakeable, and his talent is immense. Yet he's a great, down to earth guy who just loves what he does and was happy to share some of that enthusiasm with us!

Destiny PC Version Hinted?

The announcements for Bungie's new Sci-Fi MMO, Destiny, were barely out the door before the gaming community began asking, 'Will there be a PC version?'. While we at ZAM would love to be able to answer that question, the best we can do is tell you about some of the rumors going around.

Destiny Revealed

For months fans have been speculating on just what Destiny, Bungie's Sci-Fi IP actually is.

Rumors ranging from it being a straight Halo replacement, to even an MMO collaboration with Blizzard, have swirled around just about every avenue of social media available for years.

Details are now being revealed that can put much to rest.

First of all, take alook at this newly released ViDoc from Bungie, which outlines the storyline, the use of social media (including an iOS app it seems) and more:

It Is Your Destiny

Bungie fans, you just got an early Christmas present.

IGN is reporting that a leaked document, supplied to them by a reader, details the story for Bungie's upcoming MMO, code-named Destiny. The document package also contains a smattering of impressive concept art.

Bungie has confirmed to IGN that the material is indeed authentic, and in true Bungie spirit, one-upped the leakers by releasing their own image (posted below.)

“We’re not quite ready to take the wraps off our next universe, but in light of recent events we thought we’d give fans something a little more official over at Bungie.net. Feel free to drop by and say hello! There’s much more to come.”
