Eorzea PreLive - What We Learned

Eorzea Prelive gave us a lot of new information to sift through, so let's get straight down to brass tacks.  Part one of our Eorzea Prelive covers the facts as they were presented.  How will Final Fantasy XIV change between now and the retail version?  What things will be added for adventurers to enjoy?  Square Enix has been kind enough to provide a summary in English of all those nitty-gritty details.  We present it to you below, interspersed with pictures direct from the event!

Featured Guide: Timorous Deep

Introduced with the Rise of Kunark expansion, Timorous Deep is the home of the Sarnak, a dragon-kin race of Kunark.  Evil and Neutral players can join them as they decide whether to make peace or war with the Haoaera, an Aviak tribe on the island.  Work your way through the history and lore of the Sarnak, and you may eventually make your home in the cave city of Gorowyn!

If you choose Timorous Deep as your starting zone we hope you'll find our updated Timorous Deep Quest Series Guide useful!

ZAM's New FFXIV Database Landing Page

ZAM is pleased to present our new FFXIV database landing page!  For those of you that are more interested in searching through our ever-growing FFXIV database, you’ll find quick links to everything that you might be searching for including abilities, leves, items, mobs, maps, recipes, and more! Additionally, the search bar has been given a more prominent location for quick site searches.

We hope you like this new, clean version of the landing page, which also includes links to news, wiki articles and guides, forums, and more! Pass the link onto your friends, neighbors, relatives, and linkshell mates, because this is one useful little page.

Featured Guide: Making Money in EverQuest II

Veteran players forget, sometimes, the things that threw us a bit when we were new players.  Remember getting your first free house and wondering where you were going to get five silver a week to pay for it?  Prices on the broker can seem a bit daunting when you've only got 90 silver in your pocket and really want to upgrade your pet spell.

Making money in EverQuest II isn't hard, but a new player might like a couple of hints to the better opportunities to line their pockets.  We hope our new guide, How to Make Money, helps you get the goodies you need to succeed.

ZAM's FFXIV Server Forums Open!

With the launch of Final Fantasy XIV just around the corner, we are pleased to announce the opening of the ZAM server forums.

The FFXIV server forums give adventurers a place to come together outside of the game. Use these forums for organizing in-game events, recruiting new linkshell members, reconnecting with friends, announcing your latest in-game accomplishments or discussing the latest RMT trends. The possibilities are endless!

ZAM's FFXIV Database Hits Open Beta

Over the last few weeks, we've been giving you, the future citizens of Eorzea, sneak peeks of FFXIV, from our fishing guide to our tips on Japanese sayings that will help out in-game. But now, with the Open Beta phase pounding on our doors, it falls on all of us to make the FFXIV database as robust as we can by utilizing the FFXIV database. Here's what you can find:

As you explore the realms of Eorzea, make sure you check back to ZAM FFXIV for extra information on the items that you’re looking for, whether that’s the Ocean Cloud, the Missing Teeth guildleve, Ursulie the NPC, the Hempen Cowl recipe, or a map of the Black Shroud zone – just simply type in the name of the item that you find and all of the details will come your way. Additionally, don't be afraid to simply tell us about the things you find in FFXIV by shooting us an email.

And remember those tooltips we promoted a few weeks ago? We hope that you can utilize them in your posts on our forums and around the Internet as well. So have at it folks – start exploring the world of Eorzea and tell us everything that you find!

Phase three of the closed beta gave lucky beta testers a chance to give the Disciple of the Land and Disciple of the Hand classes a try.  To say that they are a departure from what we knew in Final Fantasy XI is an understatement.  These classes were completely redesigned for Final Fantasy XIV, and we have a guide prepared for those of you who like to put on your straw hat, grab a fishing pole, and relax at your nearest favorite fishing hole.

We will show you how to bait, lure, and get jiggy with this new twist on an old favorite job in Wint’s Guide to Fishing!
