Another update to EverQuest's Call of the Forsaken expansion goes live tomorrow.

The Tower of Rot, the second update to EverQuest's Call of the Forsaken expansion, goes live tomorrow (you can find the patch notes posted here):

All EverQuest Live Servers will be brought offline on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 4:00 AM Pacific* in preparation for the Tower of Rot patch. The servers are estimated to be unavailable for approximately four hours.

Here is a rundown of all things "Tower of Rot":

Features:

• One new zone (the first Tier 2 zone in COTF)
• 10 named mobs
• Six quests
• One heroic adventure
• Two missions
• One raid
• Four collection sets
• Note: No new AAs or spells with this update.

Getting There:

• Our COTF Portal Attuning Guide has been updated to include the Tower of Rot.

In the Tower:

• Our Progression & Task Guide has been updated to include Tower of Rot quests.
• Captain Deidre Harath is the starting NPC for all partisan tasks, missions, and the raid.
• Brendaleen Thundershield is the heroic adventure NPC.
• The tower, itself, is made up of nine full floors (static zone) with a bit extra inside instanced zones.

Group Gear:

• Requisitioner Rhies (the same vendor for Tier 1 gear) has Tier 2 group gear for sale. Each piece costs 1,056 Marks of Valor (this is the same currency as Tier 1 heroics).

Raid Gear:

• Requisitioner Chash is a new NPC for Tier 2 raid gear. He is located in the same camp as Requisitioner Rhies (Tier 2 raid currency: "Fists of Bayle").

It wasn't long after the citizens of Qeynos built this tower that they found out what a poor idea it was.

The citizens of Qeynos who have disappeared have become reanimated by the power of this place. Kyle Bayle and his undead army are locked away at the top of the tower. In Bayle’s possession is an artifact of great power, the legendary Qeynos Claymore. This powerful artifact may be one of the things that is needed to send Lendiniara back to her proper Thread and, in the process, stop further damage from coming to Norrath.

However, Lord Bayle has been expecting your arrival. If you seek to challenge him and his forces, he knows as well as you do how this encounter will end...

Tower of Rot becomes available to players tomorrow on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. There are new quests and missions, as well as a new Heroic Adventure and a raid for players to complete in this new zone. The Call of the Forsaken expansion is required to participate in this content.

This zone is designed for players that are level 95 and higher. The Heroic Adventure in Tower of Rot is available to players 65 and higher. Many adventurers are already preparing to travel to the Tower of Rot to set things right in Norrath. Will you join them and do your part?
